“Unfortunately I can’t do this anymore, it’s over.”

In the moment I lost my mind, and immediately I went tom my boyfriend’s house, because I wanted to understand the situation.

So I went to the door and knock angrily, and thinking “why does he does this with me?”

When he opens the door, for my surprise he was laughing, so I got really angry, and ask to him: “why you laughing? You are liking this?”

He looks to me, laughing a lot, and said: “today it’s April 1st, and I really fooled you”

He thought after this I would laugh to, but in these moment I was really mad. I turned around and walked way.

But, he called me, and obviously I didn’t answer. He ran to me and stoped me, and in this moment he did something that I didn’t expect! Romantically he opened a little red box, and a ring shined. In this moment I lost my mind again, but now, I was flying! 

After that, he looked to me and said the phrase: “Do you want marry me?” 

I confess that I was still angry with him, but of corse I said “YES!”

And this is the story about when I was fooled in the April 1st, but also was a special day to me!

 

I was the choice to make the prank because of my acting skills (that only existed on our kid’s mind), and my classmates started to prepare me for the play. The plan was to pretend that I had busted my knee open, and I don’t remember the how, maybe I was playing and then I fell on the ground, I think that was the lie. 

 

So, they painted my knee and took a lot of toilet paper to pretend I was “bleeding”. I was sitting on a chair “crying” and they were comforting me, it was serious moment (well, at least pretending to be serious). 

 

Then, to help with the play, some of them saw the teacher coming to the classroom and went to her to say “teacher, help, Mayra’s knee is open!!!”. When she got in, she came to me to see my knee, she moved the toiled paper and saw what it was underneath: nothing. We, the dearest students, yelled “Happy April Fools Day”. I don’t remember the reaction of the teacher, but I bet she loved it. 

Once, my friends and I went to Campinas together and at the weekend, we had arranged on a place for me to pick them up and return to Londrina.

Before picking them up, I went to the gas station. So, I filled the tank with fuel and then I calibrated the tires. When I finished, I realized that I was late, so I backed up quickly and as a result, I hitted the car into a pole at the gas station.

When this happened, I started to feel sick, my blood pressure dropped and I was paralyzed. So, the gas station workers came to me, they calmly said that it was ok and brought me a glass of water.

After that, I sent a message to the WhatsApp ride’s group, and everybody started to laugh and said “come off it, we know today is April first!”, “you must be joking”, “stop kidding us!”. So, I said “guys… I’m unfortunately telling you the truth!”, and send them a picture of the car. But they continued thinking it was an April Fools' Day joke and the car already had that crash. They only believed me when they saw that the trunk wasn’t opening anymore because of the crash.

John is a young man of 23 who lives in Dallas, Texas, and met his supposed girlfriend, Alicia, on a game website. They had been chatting for two months when John, already in love, decided to surprise her and went to Juneau, Alaska, where Alicia claimed to live.  Sadly for him, the girl never existed. 

After traveling the 3800 miles that separate the two places alone in his car, John sent a message to his girlfriend, who didn't answer him immediately. After many frustrating attempts to talk to Alicia, the young man received a phone call, but the voice on the other end of the line was Mark*, a local high school student.

Mark told John the truth. Surprisingly (at least to the young man from Texas), Alicia was actually a character created by Mark and his friends on April fool's day that ended up going too far. Regretful, Mark apologized to John and no longer answered his calls.

In an interview with the Daily Journal News, John said he was sad and angry, but since there was nothing else to do, he was going to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Alaska to take his vacation.

* Mark's real name cannot be revealed as he is a minor.

So, on a quiet afternoon, while I was drinking my coffee and eating a piece of the delicious Fubá's cake that she made, I got up to get the milk from the fridge and noticed, looking at the calendar taped to the door, as usual, which was April fool's day.

I couldn't let this day go by and my victim would most certainly be my grandmother. So I took a pen and ketchup and simulated a huge cut that went all over my face. It felt real! Also, I put ketchup on my shirt to make it look like the blood was flowing. With everything ready, I started to act. I knocked over all four kitchen stools to make a noise and get my grandmother's attention there. 

However, when I was lying on the floor, pretending to be passed out, I realized that she was crocheting and watching television at extremely loud volume because, due to her age, she was somewhat deaf. So, obviously, it didn't work out the first try. The way was to go to the living room and that's what I did. I arrived screaming for help and showing the cut. If regret could kill... 

My poor grandmother was desperate, she got up from the couch in seconds, threw her crochet away and left screaming: "Oh my God, someone help!" I had a fit of laughter and she thought I was crying! I took the ketchup quickly showing her that it was a lie, but even so, it took me a long time to try to calm her down saying it was a joke, that it was April 1st.
