2: DNA is made of chemical building blocks called nucleotides.
3: A molecule consisting of a nitrogen-containing base (adenine, guanine, thymine, or cytosine in DNA; adenine, guanine, uracil, or cytosine in RNA), a phosphate group, and a sugar (deoxyribose in DNA; ribose in RNA).

  • A with T: the purine adenine (A) always pairs with the pyrimidine thymine (T)
  • C with G: the pyrimidine cytosine (C) always pairs with the purine guanine (G).     
5:These nitrogenous bases are attached to C1' of deoxyribose through a glycosidic bond. Deoxyribose attached to a nitrogenous base is called a nucleoside. A nucleoside attached to a phosphate group is known as a nucleotide. The nucleotides are linked together by phosphodiester bonds.
