The Grimm Brothers (Jacob and Wihelm) come from a family of 9 children. All of them were boys except for 1 sister that they had which was the only daughter. Their first home was destroyed during World War 2. Wihelm got married and had 4 kids but Jacob didn't get married, he stayed single. However, when their fairy tales were being published they were in poverty barley having 2 meal a day.
Their father Phillip Grimm was a lawyer but unfortunatly died early.

Today Neil confirmed what group I will be performing with. The people that are in my group are Kyra, Elza, Arnold and Chris. We will be performing 'Little Red-Cap'. I will be playing the Mother, Elza will be playing Red Cap, Kyra will be playing the Grandmother, Chris will be playing the wolf and Arnold will be playing the huntsmen. Today, Neil gave us the first page of our script and we read through it as a group and jotted couple notes of where we will set the beginning and what sort of object we will be using on stage and the type of sound we will be using. Half an hour before the lesson ended I, Kyra, Elza and Arnold put together the opening scene, we set the staging and decided where our audience will be which they would be around as we would be performing in the middle. In the next post I will post an image and a video showing what we did today as well as Kyra drawing out a plan on how the staging will be like and what will be on stage. The skills that I used today was teamwork, confidence and dedication. Teamwork by being able to work in a team with my group, condidence by not being afraid to share my idea to the group and dedication by being dedicated to get the performance right and to look amazing and dark.

1- How effectively did you use the techniques and skills explored? The techniques explored today were mime and freeze frame. I used mime effectively by making sure that when I mime, my actions are clear and the scene that I am doing is clear. I also used mime effectively by making every action I used is sharp. I used freeze frame effectively by making sure that the freeze framed image that I will be in will be clear and sharp as well as looking good.

2- How did I utilise the techniques and skills into my performance preparation? So far we don't have any mime yet but after doing mine for the opening, I will consider adding mime into my groups performance. However, there is lots of freeze frames taking place as me and Arnold in a frozen image as a forest.

3- What feedback did you get and how did you use it to develop your work?

4- How have you used your research to inform your character, piece and production role?

The purpose of Fairy Tales is to create a beautiful image in peoples heads and have such a positive, energetic and colourful atmosphere between the viewers eyes and the fairy tales on screen. Fairy Tales are told to hide the dark, evil stories of/from Grimm Tales. Also, in some cases people believe in Fairy Tales and that there will be always a happy ending. Fairy Tales are more believed by young children but a minority of adults. This is because, young children are at the stage of growing up slowly, learning but their mindsets are very fragile so they are more likely to believe into anything. Whereas adults, adults have lots of responsibilities in their lives so they tend not to believe that fairy tales even exist as they say 'It is impossible'. Fairy Tales also teaches us a lesson such as giving morals, how to treat each other with respect

In todays lesson, I and my group blocked the first page of the script, the second page of the script and the last page of the script. We showed what we got so far in front of Stephen and he gave us feedback. Stephens feedback to the whole group was when any of us narrate we must know how to direct to the audience clearly. He also said, we should make clear of where exactly we will place ourselves on stage. As a group the skill technique we used was teamwork. We used this by working together, putting our ideas together and conquering the difficulties.
