About 90 to 95% of people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes.</li><li>Being overweight (BMI greater than 25) increases your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.</li><li> There’s a genetic mutation involved in type 2 diabetes, although researchers haven’t been able to pinpoint the exact mutation. You must have a genetic mutation in order to develop type 2—not everyone can get it. If you have a family history, you are at higher risk.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
