In the beginning there were two sisters the oldest the favorite was ugly and bad while the youngest was beautiful and kind. One day she found a red calf among the cattle it told her to follow him and he brought her to a nice dinner every day. And every day she grew more beautiful her parents and sister were disappointed that she did not lose her beauty. When they saw the calf taking her away to a feast so they decided to kill the calf and they wanted Rashin-Coatie to do it. But that did not work out because the calf had a plan and told Rashin-Coatie to use the axe on her sister instead and run away and it worked.

When they ran the traveled far until they eventually reached the king's house where she got a job as a servant. She did her job well as a cook one day she was told to make the dinner while the rest went to the kirk (Church of Scotland). The calf asked her if she would like to go but she had to make the dinner and she didn't have something to ware there. So the calf made the dinner and gave her a grand dress with a nice pair of slippers and so she went. When she was there the prince fell in love with her when she was leaving he tried to stop her and find out who she was but she leaped past him leaving only a shoe. So then he sent a servant to her but someone else got their foot to fit by cutting their toes to fit so the prince reluctantly married them know they weren't the right one. But the birds told him that she cut her toes to fit and where to find Rashin-Coatie and the she fit and they live happily ever after.

1: In both the prince finds the Cinderella in the story by use a slipper left behind to see who it fits on.
