In the play, Balthazar states, "I saw her laid low in her kindred's
vault and took presently took post to tell you it" (5.1.20-21). In this quote, Balthazar is explaining to Romeo how Juliet is dead, which cause him to mislead Romeo into thinking his true love is dead because he didn't mention the potion. In comparison, to "Pyramus and Thisbe", the bloody cloak made Pyramus think Thisbe was killed by the lioness not knowing that Thisbe was still alive. The narrator explains,"He lifted up from the trampled dust what was left of the cloak and kissing it again and again carried it to the mulberry tree" (948). By the end, the death of the lovers had changed the berries to a dark red. In the final paragraph of "Pyramus and Thisbe" Ovid writes, "The deep red fruit of the mulberry is the everlasting memorial of these true lovers. . ."(949). This quote reflects the color change of the berries due to the blood from the death of Pyramus. Similarly, In Romeo and Juliet the relationship of the Montagues and Capulets was not good. However, because of Romeo and Juliet's death, their relationship was made better. Lord Capulet says, "As rich shall Romeo's by his lady lie- Poor sacrifices of our enmity!"(5.3.303-304).
