Opening a new page or file:

1. Go to File/new

2. Change points to inches

3. 11x8.5 – PORTRAIT (Taller)

4. Choose CMYK, 300ppi

5. Choose create

1. File/Save

2. Save to your computer

3. Choose file to save your document to the Downloads

4. Type in your File Name

5. Keep the preset settings & choose OK

6. Your page is now named & saved

7. You will notice that after you do this, the Save is grey. This is how you can tell if it has been saved or not.

Things to remember:

• Make sure both of your shapes are selected

• Hold down your shift key to select more than 1 shape

• Shapebuilder is the tool that looks like a cloud or potato

• In Shapebuilder - hold down the ALT key to subtract shapes

• In the search bar at the bottom on the screen, type in 'snip' and the snipping tool app will pop up

• Select the New button

• The screen will go dark and the inside of the field will be what will be snipped from the screen

Use the downloaded M to recreate the letter M in a different color using the Shapebuilder tool.

Save your work. Take a screenshot of your solid M Logo & 4 color design using Snip & Sketch and LABEL your post "EX 4" or post separately as A & B to Padlet.

Create a word that has at LEAST 4 letters. Use ONLY these letters - A, E, F, H, I, K, L, M, N, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.

Examples: MANLY, WHAT, WAZE, AMEN, NAIL, LATE, WAVY, TEAM, MEAT, KITE, FINAL, HIKE, NEAT, WHEAT, MILK, HEAT, VAIN, MAIN

Create sectioned letters like the M exercise so there are at least 3 colors in each letter OR add in separations like the curved lines or straight line example

Take a screenshot of your finished word and LABEL your post "EX 5" to Padlet.

1.  Save your new document as - EX7

2. Finish the 4 icons shown using the techniques covered in the videos.

3. Color in all of the Icons.

4. Save your work.

5. Take a screenshot of your colored Icons and LABEL your post "EX 7" to the TURN IN under your name.

Create a new 8.5"x11" document and make it Portrait.

• 'Place' your worksheet on the layer and then lock the layer.

• Add a new layer to do your drawing on. 

 Save your new document as --Exercise 9-- to your Graphic Design folder on your computer. When you are finished take a screenshot of your colored Icons and LABEL your post "EX 9" to Padlet.

Type in your answer to these 3 questions along with your post.

2. Find a <500x500px image online that has something to do with a person moving - Dancing, walking, running, etc.

3. Add in drawn designs with the Pencil tool that have something to do with travel - wings, planes, maps, etc.

4. Include the 4 types of pencil lines that were covered in Exercise #6. Varied, arrows, dashed & dotted line

• Take a screenshot of your updated drawing using Snip & Sketch and LABEL your post "EX10" to Padlet.

4. Watch the Demo video and work along with it to create your fall leaf.

5. Copy and Duplicate your leaf

6. Change your second leaf's color to different shades of green for a summer leaf.

7. Screenshot your 2 leaves with Snip & Sketch and place them under your name. (See the example under the demo video)

Complete ONE of the shapes using the Pen tool, Curvature tool and Shapebuilder tool. Outline your design and add a gradient fill with at least 2 colors in each shape.

Create a word that has at LEAST 7 letters using 1 UPPER CASE LETTER & 6 LOWERCASE letters. Any of the letters of the alphabet in upper case can be used for your first letter.

1. Watch Demo 1: Create a Letter Builder for your lower case letters. This will help your letters to be a consistent size and make the next step much easier.

3. Watch Demo 2: Align your letters - make sure they are spaced well and the lower case letters are the same height.

4. Watch Demo 3: Creating a compound path and color in your word with the Gradient tool - use 3 colors in your Gradient.

5. Watch Demo 4: Add a black & white patterned background with 50% OPACITY so it is not too dark, that complements your word. Do an internet search for "Black & white pattern"

1. Choose one of the fruit pictures below OR do an image search for "Fruit cut in half". Choose a picture of a half of a fruit with a second fruit showing the outside.
2. Put the image on the first layer and lock it.
3. Make a new layer for each color.
4. Start with the darkest color, select the color with the eyedropper tool. Draw around the dark color with the blob brush tool. Fill in the shape with the shapebuilder tool.
5. Hide your darkest color.
6. Make a new layer and make it the next lightest color, select the color with the eyedropper tool. Draw around the dark color with the blob brush tool. Fill in the shape with the shapebuilder tool.
7. Continue making new layers for each drawn color.
