I heard that this island was full of opportunities

Well I feel like I should donate some money to help people to drink clean water.

I already donated the money Singapore’s first reservoir and waterworks has been made! I think a lot of people has stopped being sick!

Today I traveled with my fellow people to Singapore! While we were going there, we encountered a fierce storm. Lightning was striking, water was pouring , but thankfully we were able to survive the storm. A few people got injured, but most of us were fine.

Dear Diary,(Tan Kim Seng)

Today, I write to share my journey to Singapore. It has been many days since I arrived here. I left my hometown in Dutch malacca as I heard Singapore has a lot of land full of opportunities and my dream was to once contribute to Singapore. To help the people here, I decided to donated some money. I wish Singapore will become a very good and safe place to stay even I am gone. I feel proud of myself of what I did in this land, till next time, I remain hopeful for Sinagpore’s future.

If I were Tan Tock Seng I would also built a hospital with my name on it. Something I would different from Tan Tock Seng is that I would not only make one hospital I would make a few more to thanks Singapore. Tan Tock Seng was born from malayisa . He came to Singapore to seek economic opportunity to improve to his fortunes.

I’ve also helped set up a temple for our community the Sri Mariamman Temple so we can worship and stay connected to our traditions. I hope that Singapore becomes a place where all of us can live peacefully, earn a decent living, and raise our children with pride in who they are. I wish that my parents could see how much I did to contribute to Singapore to make it a better place. I believe this place will one day be more than just a trading post it will be home.

It has been a long time since I have left Penang which is from Malaysia. Although the food is delicious and the people here are kind and caring life is not easy in Singapore. I faced many challenges that were money and starting the first brick company and more. The weather and the other languages was hard to get used to. But the people here helped me to start the first brick company and I learned how to communicate with other people. Sometimes I miss home especially when I see other families laughing and having fun .

Today, I am writing about my journey to Singapore. I have been in this land for many days and I have many this to share about.

I left my hometown to come to Singapore as I heard that Singapore has many opportunities so I decided to stay there and make my dream come into reality. My dream was to start a new life in a place where I could make peoples dreams come true.

But life was not easy here, one challenge I faced was getting to Singapore. I struggled at first as the weather was bad and I was raining. The people there are very nice but they are very hard to communicate with as they speak in another language.

I noticed that many people here are getting sick and unwell. So, to help the people here, I decided to build a hospital for those who don’t have money and need to seek medical attention. Many people thanked me for my help for them.

I hope Singapore will become a better place for everyone staying there. My wish for my children is to live here and help Singapore more. Even after I’m gone, I hope many people here will still remember me for my contribution to Singapore.

My dream was to stat a new life in a place where I could be free and happy.Life here is not easy.One challenge I faced was when I had to work as a merchant and a philanthropist.

I did not earn much money ,but to help people here.I decided to work extremely hard and manage to build a mosque and give the community the opportunity to pray.

It has been many days since my arrival at Singapore. I came to Singapore primarily seeking economic opportunities to establish myself as a businessman. I wanted to help the people living in Singapore. So, I decided to set up a hospital. I faced the challenge for raising funds for the hospital. I hope to help those people who could not afford to go to a hospital.

Tan Tock Seng was born in Malacca in 1798. He was the third son of an immigrant father from Fujian province in China and a Peranakan mother. Tan Tock Seng’s primary motivation was come to Singapore to seek his fortune, arriving in 1819 shortly after Stamford Raffles established a British trading outpost.

Tan Tock Seng started his career selling vegetables, fruits, and poultry from a roadside stall. Over time, he built his business and wealth, eventually becoming a prominent merchant and philanthropist.Tan Tock Seng faced challenges related to public health, specifically the lack of adequate medical facilities for the poor in Singapore during the 19th century.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital was named after him because he was the primary benefactor who donated a significant sum of money to establish the hospital in 1844.Tan Tock Seng was a prominent 19th-century Hokkien entrepreneur and philanthropist in Singapore and Malacca, known for his significant contributions to the local community and his role as the first Asian to be appointed Justice of the Peace by the British. He was also a key figure in the establishment of Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore's oldest hospital.

To sum up, I will want more singaporeans to contribute to Singapore to build up Singapore’s historical moments. The settlers faced a lot of challenges and sacrifices to Singapore.

It has been a few days since I first arrived at Singapore. I The journey there was terrible. There was a spread of diseases on the ship. A few of my friends who were on the ship with me died, but there was no time to be in despair. We have reached Singapore. Life there was hard. Well, yes there were a huge supply of drinking water but work labour there was hard. We had to work for long shifts and earn very little money. Even though I had enough money for a living, I felt bad for the people who were poor and doing hard labour. I pledge to donate more money to the people who need it.

Today, I write to share my journey to Singapore. I am a rich Hokkien businessman. I was once an apprentice in A.L.Johnston & Company. Later I started my own business and became a managing partner of an opium and liquor farm.

it has been years that Singapore have war and became a independent country. Tan Tok Seng was one of the settler that came to Singapore years ago. he was a rich settler that had done a quite wonderful job and contributed a hospital. he helped Singapore contributed a lot of needs and we think that he has done a well job. this id all for today. i will write again soon.

Life here was not easy . One challenge I face was not earning enough money .  After becoming rich,I decided to help the people here by donating $13,000 in 1857 to fund Singapore's first reservoir and waterworks, which later led to the construction of the Tan Kim Seng Fountain. Today, I am writing to share about my journey to Singapore.

It has been quite a while since I safely docked on this new land. I came to Singapore from my homeland, Malacca, by boat. I came to Singapore as I wanted to seek new business opportunities after the British set up a trading post on the island. I heard that Singapore had a lot of opportunities after the British set up the post.

I struggled when I first came to the country as the people, language and sweltering weather was tough to get used to. However, I eventually got the hang of it and started working by selling groceries, such as fruits, vegetables and poultry. I would first source these products from the countryside before selling them in the city.

I would miss home especially when I first started out. However, I knew that working here would mean a better future for me.

One of my proudest achievements was when I donated a huge sum of money;7000 Spanish dollars to a hospital when my business succeeded. The hospital was then named after me; Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Can you believe it?

I hope that Singapore would become a well established country in future, and I wish that my children can live a happy and carefree life. After I am gone, I wish that Singapore can have the well-being of the poor and for the advancement of healthcare.

I did not regret this decision, I was grateful that I did that decision. More people are staying healthy, thanks to the doctors and nurses.
