This video summarizes how the banks and credit card companies notice fraudulent activity. This video explains how major payment processors collect large amount of data from their card holders, getting to now their spending habits. I wasn't aware of this but it is smart. As you tap and swipe your card the credit company creates a profile it has your location, how much you typically spend and your habits.
I chose this video because it had a lot of information I didn't know about. I never knew that if someone drained a bunch of funds from your account the bank generally has to give you all the money back if you report fast enough.

Website #2 Who is responsible for stolen credit card charges?

This website gives you a summary of who is responsible for charges on a stolen credit card. The fair credit billing act is the federal law that defines your rights when your credit card is stolen. Under the act, you won't be held liable for any charges if you report the theft before any fraudulent charges are made on your account. You could
be liable for up to $50 if the credit card is used before you report the
theft, so you want to report it stolen as soon as you notice it's missing.
I chose this website because I think it's important to know
who would be responsible for charges on a stolen card. You don't want to have to be responsible to pay back large amounts of unauthorized charges.

This video summarizes how debit card fraud happens and what consumers can do t prevent it. Canadians are among the highest users of debit cards in the world so we need to protect ourselves. A theft doesn't actually need your debit card to steal from you, they just need enough information to duplicate your card. To get the information some people use a skimming device to capture information from your card.
I chose this video because it contains a lot of good information and with examples. It also has Canadian statistics that I wasn't aware of such as Canadians make over 4 billion interact debit transactions each year.

This website gives you an overview on how to protect yourself from debit card fraud. Debit cards are very safe there 99 per cent of debit transactions occurring without incident each year in Canada. However, you still need to know how to protect yourself. The bank is working to protect you as well. The banks have a team of experts who can detect fraudulent activity and can usually reimburse and notify you before you even notice yourself. I chose this website because it has so much helpful information. It gives you a brief explanation on what debit fraud is, how the banks protect you from being a victim and the prevalence of debit card fraud. Something I found interesting is debit card fraud losses have dropped 92 percent.

I feel like this tactic is used a lot and can hurt a lot of people who aren't educated on credit and debit fraud especially younger people.

Video #4 How Does ATM Skimming work?

.This video tells you how ATM skimming works. When a credit or debit card swiped through a skimmer the device captures and stores all the details stored in the card's magnetic stripe. Credit card skimmers are often placed over the card swipe mechanism on ATM's,but the skimmers can be placed over almost any type of credit card reader. Thieves will also make pin sized holes to add a camera so they can see you enter your pin. I chose this video because I never knew how skimming worked and this video taught me a lot about how its done and the equipment that is used. Something I found interesting was More recent black market gadgets can transmit card information and pins wirelessly which makes it really easy to get away with this.

This website provides you with a bunch of tips that will prevent credit card fraud. Fortunately, you can try to avoid credit card fraud by keeping your credit card information extra safe. Always be aware for scammers who may try to trick you into giving up your credit card details. Don't toss your credit card billing statements into the trash they typically have your full credit card number printed on time. Shred them to keep people from getting their hands on your credit card number. Do the same with old credit cards that have expired or been canceled. I chose this website because it has a lot of helpful tips that I haven’t seen on the other websites. Some of the tips are things you could easily forget about and then be in some trouble.
