In the novel If I stay, Mia and her family get into a terrible car accident leaving her parents and brother dead and Mia in a coma. Mia has to make the decision between staying and continuing her music career or dying and joining her parents and brother. Throughout the story, she debates whether she wants to survive or die. 

I give this book a 5 out of 10. It was not as interesting and emotional as I envisioned it being. I am an emotional person when it comes to books and movies and I was surprised that this book did not make me shed a tear. It really did not affect me in any way. It left me bored and I did not like it like i thought I was going to. 

If you are looking for a fast-paced book with a lot of tragedy and emotion, I do not recommend this one. This book is slow and all of the events are boring and do not have a lot of details. Lisa stated in her review that she was not blown away by this novel like her friends were. Lisa could not relate to the main character, Mia, and she found her unlikable. She enjoyed the book but did not like it as much as she thought she would.
I 100% agree with Lisa's review. I also was not blown away by the novel like I thought I would be. I also did not realize just how unlikable Mia really is. As stated before, Mia has to make a decision between staying or leaving. Throughout the entire story, Mia decides whether she wants to live or die. It is a big choice for a sixteen year old girl.
