Still remember back to the old days when I and anh Tuan Bui together did research on Interfolio, studied its all features, read through overwhelming recruitment workflow benchmarks of lots of universities, attended and passed the exam for Interfolio administrators haha I even printed out the certificate and sticked it right in front of me. I appreciate anh Tuan Bui a lot for your empathy and all your support. I appreciate that you take it seriously with my complaints everyday and you did not ignore the pain point of recruitment that we did not have any professional systems at that time.

Pham Thuy Huong (OP)_ Some secret things about Mr. Hoang Viet:))

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Hoang Viet- My team leader because of his sympathy for our operations team. He is the one who always listens to us and respects our ideas. He always appears at the right time, gives best advice, and suggests the best solutions. He plays an important role in keeping the balance of our team members because we have strong personality and strong voice also😊. He does nothing, just allows us to express ourselves and then gives conclusion. Sometimes we have to say “wow” because in his point of view, everything is so easy, but we made a lot of disagreement:))

Viet is also the person who likes taking photos most in my team. He creates the rule that after an event, no matter how busy we are, we must take photo with all team members. I really appreciate his idea because he understands that in big events, operations team members are so busy with lots of logistics, so that we cannot spend time to attend events fully. While our colleagues spend every moment enjoying the show, our operations team take advantage of that time to check other facilities to make sure that everything runs smoothly. That is the reason why Viet created that rules, because if not, we could not have any memory to remember😊

Some people told me that Viet is not COOL because he sometimes says NO with their demands of support😊. Please understand for him because he thinks about his team members. We are ready to support but we only have limit resources and that’s the reason why Viet said NO😊. Actually, Viet is the warm-hearted person and except for work, he always says YES with you, especially if you are a charming lady ^^

Sometimes she is at C building to give lectures to our students; sometimes she is at SAM office to do the coaching job; sometimes she is at our Dorm to welcome students; sometimes she drives tuk tuk to pick up our guests; sometimes she stays with us all night to sing many favorite songs; sometimes she runs around the campus like an athlete. The most special thing is that whatever she does, she does with her full energy and a warm heart. I have never seen her without her smile. Maybe she thinks that if she doesn't smile, she is not beautiful:)). However, from the bottom of my heart and our Dorm Residents' heart, her radiant beauty comes from her kindness🧡
Thanks chị Liên Trịnh for always being the most beautiful side of yourself.
Phuong Nguyen (CAS) - to the kindest heart I've known - anh Thịnh :D

I'll be very straightforward that I'm writing about one of the kindest men I've ever known - anh Thinh (CAS).
My first impression of him was that he was too formal and serious in everything. Our first "work together" started with an argument and I felt that I could not work with this man. But the more I work with him, talk to him, and observe what he did, the more I realise he's such a dedicated person who cares a lot about his colleagues with a pure heart. Thinh might not be the most excellent man, but he's the most enthusiastic, caring, and responsible for whatever he does. I've seen him stay very late at work to run urgent work which he could have definitely shared with any of his AA colleagues, but he did not, saying he would want us to have more time with our family. I've seen how much Thinh cared for our students and even staff and faculty during university-wide events such as leadership boot camp or national defense education. I know he was the person who went to bed last at almost 3 am to make sure everyone was safe. One more thing I admire Thinh for is that he's very kindhearted. I've never heard Thinh talk bad about anyone despite the fact he likes them or not. He always believes people have good and bad sides, we would never look at bad sides to judge someone.

Anh Thinh, I know you will be a dad very soon but in the last few months, you sacrificed so much time which you should've spent with your wife to devote to the work. For most people, what you've done might just be something under your "scope of work", but for me (and many others who ever worked with you), though you work very hard in silence without the need of anyone to know about it, I see you put your heart into everything you are (and even are not) in charge of. So, thank you so much for being such a great colleague and brother of CAS's TAAs team :)

Van Dang (CAS) + "ZERO TO HERO"

Thinking about the core value "Empathy", I immediately think of a person whom he has imprinted in my heart as an unsung hero. It was the end of October, exactly 1 year ago, when we were preparing for an award ceremony for the Top 10 teams of students from different universities across the country, gathered at VinUni from the night before to attend the ceremony the next morning. At that time, the whole country was still in the midst of the covid outbreak, and it's difficult to make a decision to hold a crowded event at that time, it seemed to challenge us more when the cold air suddenly flooded in with heavy rain a night before, especially at central region where 2 students from Vinh city needed to fly to Hanoi, the weather was extremely bad due to whirlwinds and lightning. Their flight was delayed more than 2 hours due to bad weather, and we received their calls when their airport taxi arrived at Vinhomes Ocean Park but was blocked from entering (At that time outside taxis are not allowed to carry non-residents into the residential area after 9PM). We talked on the phone with VHOP security guards to ask for letting them enter, but failed, the taxi driver couldn't do anything but have to let our students check out, right outside Ruby 2 building area, as he's waiting for a long time, while the weather was heavy and windy.. Two students called me with worried voices because they flew for many hours, got delayed, encountered sudden cold rain and had to wait for help lonely outside the building. We called the technology taxi companies, and the big taxi brands asking for help but were denied, all canceled for many reasons: they happened to be right outside VHOP and couldn't get into the area due to strict policy, or the cost is not much enough to run in the cold wind and rain and it's late evening, although we have proposed to tip. Within half an hour of calling and being rejected by nearly a dozen drivers, we struggled at the VinUni side gate (unfortunately we don't have a personal car, but we still have to make sure the students got
quick test for covid before entering campus), and it was getting darker and darker and raining. We could not do anything but nearly crying with our security officers working there at the gate. At that moment, one of them said that there is only a way to catch a random taxi on the way to pick them up, and without waiting for a moment he rode his Vinfast electric motorbike which was parked nearby, rushed into the night (I'm not trying to advertise for Vinfast in this story^^). I promptly ask to go with him, then two of us rushed to the residential area, and soon he immediately caught an "on the way" taxi which I can't remember its brand, and signaled to follow him. The rain was heavy and the wind was very strong, the road seemed to be far away, the wind hit my face so I could barely see anything, just heard his voice that we are nearly heading to the students place, I called to our students saying exactly the same. The Ruby building appeared in front of me, and I saw two students: a girl with a coat huddled near the lobby, a boy with short clothes standing near the sidewalk waiting for us. Feeling very sorry for them because they have to wait so long, and tired, when this is the first time they go to Hanoi. At that time, we could only apologize, and put them in a taxi quickly, and lead the taxi back to VinUni, it was still raining and cold constantly. Reached to VinUni where we helped students to test covid, and immediately took them to the dormitory. Although the students were very tired, they always said "Thank you, thank you, we are fine". The other students who arrived from the afternoon still awake and helped us to welcome their friends, ate food together, played and talked to each other at the dormitory... That evening, the first time they went to Hanoi, the first time they visited VinUni dormitory, I believe it will mark an unforgettable memory on their student life. As soon as I wrote these words, I still have the vivid feeling of that moment when we were helped by a hero despite of the obstacles from outside, who never asks to be grateful and remembered (I forgot the detail that day I did not bring my purse with me and didn't have a penny to pay for the noname taxi, and the security officer already paid for me, and he never receives my cash after that even though I found him several times insist of returning the money, he just smiled and said "It's nothing:)"). Yes, it could be nothing, but a "zero to hero" for me: I would like to dedicate these words to honor a humble hero of mine and the students then, I believe you all have met him many times when he is on duty at the gate, or performs security checks around the campus riding on his vinfast ^^ he has a serious attitude in work, with nice and friendly look. Since then, when I see him, or meet his security colleagues (anh Hoàng, anh Lệ, bạn Đức, Sinh, Hữu...), I often say hello with my sincere thank coz I know thanking them is never enough. I would like to honor him for the image of Empathy, as well as the spirit of serving from the bottom of heart (like the name OMOTENASHI of my team) - anh NGUYỄN VĂN HUYNH from VinUni security team.

Thank you!
Em Vân

Every day at VinUni, we can see a lot of empathy in each corner and every staff who is working here to brick a university of excellence. Here, I want to call Mr. Nguyen Binh Tam as an outstanding example of empathy. Eveyday, when I leave the office, I still see him walking around the campus or doing something. His most common sentence is "this set up/ faciliy is beyond the standards" which can make some of us feel frustrated and upset. However, he will try his way to settle it down even though he has to stay up late at the campus, sending us some photos. I sometime can feel his loneniess through his status on FB when his thinking concept is different from others. I fully understand that serving for both faculty, staff and students is not an easy task at all. I am posting here about him to say thanks for his empathy and wish him fresh moments with this beautiful campus. Thank you, Mr. Tam.

She acted as the role model when running almost 100 km but at the same time cares about those down at the bottom of the running list.
