The Black Rhinos are a critically endangered species due to poaching in Africa. According to Malawian Rhinos "4,500 African rhinos have been killed in South Africa alone between early 2007 and October 2015." Black Rhinos may be very rare scientifically, but they also hold a significant place in historical beliefs in Malawi, Africa. According to Kwa Zulu-Natal "[rhino horns symbolize] the key qualities of power, danger and protection traditionally associated with African leadership." The Black Rhino is prized for its pricey horn and is widely poached for it. This is sad for both the species and the beliefs passed down about them throughout generations of African natives.

In the book "The Boy Who Harnessed The Winds" by William Kamkwamba, he speaks of his childhood. One of these childhood memories include the time he tried magic, specifically Mangolomera. Mangolomera is a type of "magic" that enhances a persons strength past the normal human capacities. This process includes cutting the knuckles of the person and smearing a "magic" paste on the cuts. In a few days this person is supposed to receive this magical power. In William Kamkwamba's experience this did not work out and the cute remained cuts rather than giving him any powers. This experienced shaped Williams life and taught him that magic does not solve every problem, and that id does not work. This causes him to turn to math and science, that leads him to his windmill.

If I were in Kamkwamba's position i would find it difficult to kill my own dog, but when times are tough you must take drastic measures. Ido think that the family should have eaten the dog rather than burying it, but in being sentimental towards an animal, I can understand his feelings.

One of the most renowned scientists for being ridiculed would be Albert Einstein himself. As a widely known scientists and mathematician its hard to believe that he was ever mocked by his peers but they believed him to be mad and a complete moron. Another Scientists mocked as William was would be the great Ludwig Boltzmann who is primarily known for his work with matter specifically atoms. He was ridiculed for his work due to the contradictory debate among scientists at the time over the idea of matter. In time though people have come to appreciate these geniuses and each have become some of the greatest scientists of all time.

He shows this when he says "As i had feared I was behind in everything: Geography, agriculture, Social studies, alll things I'd studied in the library." Despite being behind in his school work he was able to work as hard as he could to catch up. Even though he tries his hardest, when it is time for fees to be paid once again he is forced to leave school yet again. "My greatest fear was coming true: I would end up just like him, another Malawian farmer laboring in the soil." This is very sad because we know his potential and he is held back by society. But he goes on and does his best with what he has.
