The priesthood is another vocation. Priests are men that serve the mass and perform many other tasks throughout our church. There are many different priesthoods. The common priesthood is what we are all called to be apart of after baptism. The ministerial priesthood imitate Jesus and help build up the body of Christ.

How is God calling me in my life?

I feel like God is calling me through my every day life. Through prayer, school, friends, family, teachers, and different experiences. I am being called to the single life right now, but I feel like marriage is my calling for later on. However, there are many other options to explore through my life. I feel the marriage life specifically because of my parents relationship and it inspires me to follow the marriage path. My parents have raised good, Catholic children and I hope to do the same when I am older.

My mom is a great example of following your vocation. She is a mother of four children. She volunteers up at church and at school. She has helped me grow in the Catholic faith throughout my life. She sends me to a good Catholic school, takes me to Mass every Sunday, and helps me develop a good, moral life. She has inspired and encouraged me to follow my vocation, which I feel is the married life.

There are many things I am doing to unravel God's calling. I am attending mass every Sunday and Tuesday which allows me to be close to Jesus through the Liturgy and the Eucharist. I am also performing acts of stewardship which allows me to connect with God by helping others. Another act I am doing to grow in holiness is praying. I pray every day and night to God and Mary to help me discern my vocation.

My Vocation...

I am very excited to see what God has in store for me for the rest of my life and I know I must trust his plan for me. One of my fears about my vocation is when I will fully know what I am called to do. Will it be tomorrow? In 20 years? When I get out of college? I think the most important reason for me to answer God's call is because God gave us life and gave us happiness so we must trust in Him because he has the right plan even though we think we do, we do not. We need to trust in God because he is right.
