Usually these single stories can be placed into the mind of individuals from a very young age. it can be portrayed in books, media even at school. Prejudice is defined as a preconceived opinion or notion about someone or something which is often not based on facts or experience. For example Chimamand's roommate can be labeled as prejudice, for she had a preconceived opinion about Chimamand, she questioned her proper english, and also assumed she only listened to tribal music, this in turn was false.

In my opinion this ranges far beyond Africa and enters the caribbean. There is a such thing called Caribbean Authenticity, and these are qualities or stereotypes that one must posses in order to be considered from the caribbean. For example, according to the "Caribbean Amphibian " article written by Winston Williamson, in order to be from the caribbean you must be aggressive or abusive , you must live near the beach and you are uncivilised. I was excited about having classes online therefore both my lecture and tutorial were online.My expectations were met and i enjoyed my classes, However i enjoyed my tutorials more than my lectures. The lectures in my opinion contained too much people, although it was amazing being in a classroom of hundreds of people across the Caribbean, it tend to got distracting in the Chatbox which resulted in me paying attention to the jokes being said rather than the lectures.
