Obama stops Pledge of Allegiance in schools

My hoax was created back in October 2016. You might have seen a story about how President Barack Obama banned the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance at schools. The site that published this “news” article was ABCnews.com.co. It was set up to look like the real ABC News website. The story was shared and commented on 2.1 millions times in a 2 month span. Whoever wrote the article, actually put some effort into making this seem legit. It has quotes from Barack Obama that mimic this vocabulary. It also has “quotes” from Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. This was during the height of the Presidential Campaign and seems to be pandering towards Trump supports who need more reasons to not like Liberals such as Obama and Clinton. The comments under the article suggest that this story wasn’t corrected at the time. People automatically assume that everything is correct and start agreeing and throwing out insults of their own.
