The last time I wrote to you was a year ago, this very day. Remember, I had told you that you would find a place to call home. I wasn't wrong, was I?

It must have been an eventful first year at Hogwarts.

Getting through the barrier at Kings Cross when you thought you were surely going to miss the train.

Getting everything off the trolley just because you wanted to make Ron happy.

Meeting Hagrid, a familiar face, at the station and sitting with him on those perilous boats praying no one fell into the lake lest the giant squid would get them.

Oh and the Sorting Hat's song! Wasn't that amazing! And of course, you didn't want to be that no-good-condescending-silver-haired-weirdo's friend. No one's got time for that drama.

How did your meeting Sir Nicholas go? Isn't he funny! Did you get to meet the other house ghosts? Don't worry if you didn't I'm sure you will in due time. One of them is sure to have something like a Death-Day party soon. Ghosts, I tell you.

Oh and I can't believe it, you got to be on the quidditch team. The effing Quidditch Team. No one this young had ever been allowed, the last time it happened, as stated by Ron, was like a century ago!

Congratulations Harry. You for one deserve it. You deserve this and so much more.

So tell me, wasn't it everything you'd dreamt of?

Other than Professor Snape and the weird way he looks at you as if he was disgusted to be so intrigued. Anyway, don't need to think about that oily-haired-brooding-bugger for now. Also, going to ignore that you're almost dying at the hands of a famous deadly wizard, because hey the toilet seat Fred and George gave totally makes up for that, doesn't it?

I know you miss your parents, now that you know who you really are, but you finally have people like Ron and Hermione to share everything with.

I'm sure their letters will be arriving soon as well.
