Different psychologists perceive info differently and have different stand points so different psychologists will conduct research in different ways. The different research subjects are also all different so they too will perceive things differently and their sensations or reactions to the experiments and studies will all be different, in that way sensation and perception influence the field of psychology and how people contribute to it.

The loss of sensation can influence people because they want to learn about how it happened and they want to know how it would make them feel or act with different test on people, so say that you have 3 people doing the same test but one person doing the test was blind, the blind person had a stronger sensation of smelling and hearing. that is a way to influence people to go deeper and research the lost of sensation.
