Allow students to participate in designing the classroom activities and tasks. For students to thrive, first they need to feel that the environment is "safe" for them. this means that they are comfortable in the learning experience, free of ridicule if they are incorrect on an answer. This can be achieved by allowing differentiated groups to work together on a common task, nurturing a connection between classmates and benefiting the group as a whole.

All learners learn differently and that can be based on disabilities (learning or sensory), cultural differences, and even just the way a students prefers to learn (auditorial, tactile, etc.) There is no one specific way that everyone can learn perfectly, if there was I'm sure we would be using it by now.

PERCEPTION
It is key to offer alternative ways that a student can learn the information. For example in Mrs. Tolley's class she records and captions all of her meetings. This is only one example, there are MANY.

LANGUAGE AND SYMBOLS
Just like we stated before, not everyone has learned the same. It is imperative to clarify to your students what it is that you are about to discuss. In some cultures "The cow jumped over the moon" sounds crazy, but here most people would know the reference. Things like this along with certain vocabulary and other things should be taught before a lesson begins.

COMPREHENSION
Making sure that students are not only fully understanding the lessons but are also going to be able to use the skills or knowledge gained in the future is very important. Making sure you are gaging your students progress is key in a lesson. This allows the teacher to slow down, speed up, or change lesson plans all together to meet the needs of their specific students.

The representation section describes how students better learn and grasp ideas when the student is met where they are in how to learn. Students must be taught from the ground up in lessons/material and each student learns different and at different pace. Certain things like physical and mental impairment/disabilities can slow learning. However as a teacher, we are called to meet the learning needs of students and alter the way we teach to reach every student.
