To a PI it could be more-senior PIs or head of dept; to Head of Dept it could be head of college, Uni President, etc..

    We think it is about these leaders 'leading by example', showing that they value open research and can communicate the benefits of this]]>     2022-05-27 14:25:44 UTC https://padlet.com/openresearch2/Group4CulturalChange/wish/2202257702     Open Research Champions https://padlet.com/openresearch2/Group4CulturalChange/wish/2202262935 To start with a definition: We think the role of the Open Research Champion (ORC) is to educate others about what Open Scholarship is, and advocate/communicate the benefits of this (and how to implement it). And demonstrate this through their actions.

    We think ORCs should NOT be limited to senior academics: this is too exclusive and top-down. We need representation at all levels: ECRs will have more buy in if they see good examples from their peers, rather than perceiving being dictated to by above.

    This also helps to address EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) concerns
