Domain 7 provided some valuable insights into the importance of culturally responsive clinical practice when working with individuals from migrant and refugee backgrounds, especially when interpreters are involved. I have learned that it's crucial to respect and acknowledge the influence of culture on healthcare decisions and choices made by patients. I have made myself aware that cultural values and beliefs can significantly impact a patient's health-seeking behavior and treatment preferences. I will try to minimize culturally insensitive practices such as biases, inadequate communication, prejudices, and limited cultural knowledge. I will continuously educate myself about different cultures, their healthcare practices, and potential barriers that patients from diverse backgrounds may face. In my nursing career, by doing these things, I can provide culturally responsive care that respects the diversity of the patients I serve and enhances their overall healthcare experience. This improves patient outcomes and strengthens the nurse-patient relationship, fostering trust and mutual respect (Home, n.d.).

Home. (n.d.).

The Make in India initiative was introduced in response to a dire situation in 2013 when the emerging markets bubble burst, causing India's growth rate to plummet to its lowest level in a decade. India's status as one of the "Fragile Five" raised concerns among global investors, and the country was at a crossroads, facing a potential economic crisis. In September 2014, Prime Minister Mr. Modi launched the Make in India program as part of a broader effort to revitalize the nation. This initiative aimed to position India as a global center for design and manufacturing, serving as a unifying call to action for citizens, business leaders, and potential international partners and investors. However, Make in India is not merely a motivational slogan; it signifies a comprehensive and unprecedented overhaul of outdated processes and policies (“Make in India Initiative: A Key for Sustainable Growth,” 2019).

Make in India initiative: A key for sustainable growth.

Indian art often depicts deities and spiritual figures from three prominent religions originating in India: Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. These religions convey their narratives to their followers primarily through visual representations. Believers in all three traditions typically engage in individual worship rather than congregational gatherings, with a strong emphasis on works of art. Through proper ritual observance, certain images and structures are believed to become the dwelling places of deities. The level of ornamentation at a temple or shrine is seen as an indicator of the deity's satisfaction. Additionally, art plays a crucial role in helping worshippers envision a reality beyond the physical world, which all three religions teach is illusory. By studying these images, individuals can grasp truths that transcend the familiar world, with the ultimate value lying in the knowledge gained, rather than the art itself. Religious texts offer precise descriptions of how gods and the cosmic realms they inhabit should be represented, making accuracy in artwork of paramount importance to fulfill its intended purpose (2023).

(2023).

The health and well-being of migrants and refugees in Australia are profoundly influenced by social determinants. These factors, as outlined in the World Health Organization's (WHO) Social Determinants of Health framework, have a substantial impact on this population. First and foremost, the income and social protection available to migrants and refugees play a critical role in determining their health outcomes. Many newcomers to Australia grapple with economic disparities, which result in substandard living conditions, food insecurity, and limited access to healthcare services. This relationship is substantiated by the WHO's assertion in 2022, underscoring the fundamental role of income and social protection in achieving health equity. Another vital determinant is education, which significantly shapes the health of migrants and refugees. Limited educational opportunities can impede their access to better employment prospects and social integration, exacerbating health disparities. Additionally, unemployment and job insecurity have a pronounced impact on their well-being, as these individuals often encounter difficulties in securing stable employment. This, coupled with unfavorable working conditions, can lead to heightened stress and mental health concerns. These challenges underscore the imperative of addressing social determinants, as underscored by WHO in 2022, to ensure that migrants and refugees in Australia have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare services and an opportunity for improved health outcomes (World Health Organization, 2023).

World Health Organization. However, shifts in U.S. immigration policies had a direct impact on the number of Italians choosing Australia as their destination (bob, 2019).
Some of the key health concerns for refugees in Australia, which would apply to Italian refugees as well, include:

Mental Well-being: Italian refugees, akin to other displaced populations, might grapple with mental health issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety due to the trauma they've endured in their home country or during their migration journey.

Contagious Ailments: Refugees from diverse regions, including Italy, may have an elevated risk of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, and parasitic infections, making it imperative to conduct screenings and provide treatment to prevent potential transmission within the host community.

Lifestyle-Related Health Conditions: Italian refugees, as they adapt to their new surroundings, could encounter health challenges tied to non-communicable diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular ailments. To address these concerns, it is vital to ensure they have access to appropriate healthcare and make necessary adjustments to their lifestyle (Australian Refugee Health» Primary Care for People of Refugee Backgrounds, n.d.).

Australian Refugee Health» Primary Care for People of Refugee Backgrounds. It spans a wide range of musical genres, from traditional Indian classical music to contemporary pop and fusion, making it an ever-evolving and captivating genre. Another reason for my love of Indian music is the emotional depth and storytelling it carries. Take this song for example: Behti hawa sa tha vo; It is the most liked Hindi song which was made in the movie mentioned above because it describes a person who supports all his friends during the whole engineering course. This is a very emotional and heart-touching song.

Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh - Lyrical | 3 Idiots | Aamir Khan, Madhavan, Sharman J | Shaan & Shantanu M. (n.d.). Www.youtube.com.

Traditional Indian medicine holds the distinction of being one of the world's oldest medical systems. Ayurveda, the most commonly practiced branch of traditional Indian medicine, places a strong emphasis on holistic healthcare, considering the unity of the body, mind, and spirit. It is rooted in the belief that individuals can achieve physical, mental, and emotional well-being through a harmonious alignment with nature. Indian medicine is grounded in two fundamental theories: the theory of the five elements and the theory of the three humoralisms. The theory of the five elements, originating from Vedic culture, is employed in medical contexts to explain human physiology. According to this theory, all components in the world, including Prithvi (earth), Jala (water), Agni (fire), Vayu (air), and Akasha (ether), become integrated into the human body, complementing its corresponding elements upon consumption. Conversely, the theory of the three humoralisms, known as Tridosha, identifies three humors – Vata (gas), Pitta (bile), and Kapha (mucus) – whose equilibrium dictates the health and ailment status of the human body. Diseases arise from internal and external factors that upset the balance of these humors, with treatment strategies aiming to restore equilibrium through the use of medications and dietary adjustments (Yu et al., 2020).

Yu, S., Chao, Z., & Xiaodong, L.
