         <title>It&#39;s really difficult to get student invested in anything that doesn&#39;t receive a grade. IN fact, it&#39;s nearly impossible, so I try to talk to the ELA teachers about giving students extra credit if I&#39;m pulling them on a regular basis. I also talk to the ELA teachers about some of the skills my higher level students need to master, because it can all be worked into an ELA class with the right collaboration. I monitor grades regularly - as in, every 2-3 weeks at least. If a student is falling behind, I intervene as early as I can.</title>
