In the field of beauty like foundations, for example, rely on modern technology and are primarily responsible for protection against UV rays and for combating the slowing down of ageing in order to achieve protection from damage. However, the upper limit of this direction is too low to allow for very unique and in-depth expansion and research.

The beauty segment of Route 1 already held a lot of promise and was on the verge of saturation, many of the products already had features such as protection from the sun, were not fresh enough and could not be explored in depth for more possibilities.

With the pressures of life forcing people to fear that bad things will happen to them, some people will avoid harm in the future by buying crystals to ward off evil things or through tarot, for example. In the UK, where things such as the occult and divination are very well developed, there is a particularly wide range of information available for investigation in this field and I find this direction very interesting and inspiring.

Route 2 has a much wider range of exploration and accessibility. The field of the occult is a big gap in the branding market and I thought it would be challenging and interesting to take this abstract field and make a design and produce something out of it.

    How old were you?
    I can't remember, but when I was very young, most kids my age had a partner with them, and I basically had "them" with me ("them" meaning things that humans can't describe), and I always thought that other people around me could see, but then I realised that not everyone could see.     I've always hit a wall in other professions and then it's only when I'm doing this that I feel it's smooth, it's kind of smooth and I'm happy doing it.

    You've always believed in them from the beginning to the end, haven't you?

    I'm a bit of a layman, but the most obvious thing is that it's helped me to settle down, and then it's smoother, and I've got some material security. Yes, that's one thing, but also I'm probably more accepting of a lot of things, and I'm more accepting of unexpected events.

    Do you think that if your clients come to you, or if they come to you in the future for, say, divination or fortune telling, what is it that they want to get in this way? What do you want to get out of it?

    I honestly don't want to bring them anything, because they themselves bring me more. For example, it was their reasons, because their reasons would make me feel that I was needed and useful. And then there's me, I would feel that I don't give them any kind of decision or decision making or anything like that, it's them who ultimately make the choice. So I would say that what I can bring to them is a way of reorganising their thinking and understanding themselves further. For example, if this client comes to me, then I play the role of a bridge between him and his deeper self. I feel that I am bringing him a renewal, more like a medium, yes, to let them understand themselves.

    What kind of people do you think most of the clients you meet are, what kind of people come to you?

    At least at the moment they come to me, they're anxious, some are desperate, some are on the verge of a breakdown, most of the time, very rarely do they come to me because they're happy. Well, basically they come to me when they have a problem, when they are troubled, and then when they feel stuck, when their rhythm of life has got stuck.

    So what do you think is the one thing in the field of the occult that can protect people from some harm? Is it that the Tarot, for example, allows people to protect themselves? Or maybe anything else, just within your understanding.

    In my understanding it's a consultation, a simple consultation, it doesn't do much to protect people, it just gives them a psychological barrier when they know what's going to happen in advance. If it is to have a real protective and barrier effect in the metaphysical and occult sense, it is not possible to rely on counselling alone, but needs to be combined with some rituals and other external things. Because we ourselves are a magnetic field, and that is the fastest way to protect the barrier if, like when the person's magnetic field is weak, it needs to be replenished by some external magnetic field, by some natural forces. Well, like nature or a space like this, with some of the power, but there are disadvantages, it's only temporary, it can't be maintained all the time, and there's also the fact that you have to exchange something in yourself for it.

    Can you give me some examples? For example, do you think there is something, something tangible, that can protect people?

    There are many amulets that have a direct protective effect, such as the jade and crystals given by the elders of my father's and mother's families when they were very young, and then the peace amulets from the temples, don't underestimate them, they also have a role to play. The talismans and the objects given by the elders all have a protective effect.

    What do you think about crystals?

    Crystals have a magnetic field, it's a natural energy and there's nothing wrong with that, the magnetic field can subconsciously help them have a more soothing energy, it's more like a healing thing. I quite like crystal, it makes me feel very comfortable.

    So what kind of things do you normally do to energise yourself or feel safe? Just to get some comfort, or to settle myself.

    To settle myself, I do hug big trees, but not all big trees, but just my particular tree, which has to be meaningful. Well, it may not mean anything to me, but it has seen me through a lot of things and it has been with me for a long time, so when I'm not in the right mood and I feel like I have a problem with my own energy I go and hug it and there's a sense of resonance.

    Do you do any meditation?

    Rarely, but I do manifestation, that is, to make the thing go from the virtual to the reflection of it into real life.


    Can you give me an example of how people can understand the occult in a more accessible way? It's about making people understand what kind of existence you have in this profession.

    It's like a living hospital, or a hospital where people can come to me with problems that cannot be solved in a normal hospital, where they can look for problems, explore the root cause and then find a solution to the right decision.

    Can you think of it as a special kind of psychological hospital?

    I don't think it's the same as a psychological hospital, because psychology is still an academic discipline, because psychology is serious, it's a science that studies the psychological dynamics of people. If you simply do counselling, it is linked to psychology, but if you want to solve some metaphysical problems, I don't think you can just rely on counselling, you need some means and special measures.

    So how do you think the occult is convincing?
    I don't think it needs to do anything to convince people, and water never needs to convince people, it's useful because people need it.

    Well, if you were to make your own brand of occultism, what would you want it to be like?
    It's more vulgar, let's say it's like Nongfu Shanquan (a mineral water brand), and I think that's fine. I think it would be good to have an effect like Farmers' Spring.
    It doesn't necessarily mean that it's highbrow, but it turns it into a habitual lifestyle in a subtle way. And I'm sure there will be a day when that happens.

    To be more specific, what colour would you like it to be? What kind of shade would it be for your brand? What kind of colours?

    I would like it to be varied and diverse. It is possible that the colours that each person encounters are random, and then when he meets my brand later, for example, when he first meets me and comes into contact with my brand, but he just randomly chooses which colour he sees, and what he sees is that type of colour, so it might be a bit fanciful.

    For example, is it colourful or monochromatic? Is it obvious? Is the contrast strong like black and white?

    Not too strong, well, it's a gentle colour. Yes, the most approachable kind of colour.

    So if the brand asked you to give it some tone, what would you like it to mean? Tone? For example, the tone of the brand is a clear, cost-effective, gentle feeling.

    Is that right? Well, I think it still needs to work with the media, just more through some of the more widely publicised ways. But more importantly it's really about word of mouth. It depends on what their focus is. You can do word-of-mouth for 10 years, or even a decade or so, and just not use the media so that you just focus on word-of-mouth, but then do that volume after that word-of-mouth has reached a certain level, which is what I tend to do.
