Today, I learned some of US students daily routine while they are in the university. Besides, we also shared some of our routine in our university. Asian university routine has some different compared to the US's student. The celebration also have much more difference between us and them. In the video chatting, they also explained to us what is Halloween all about and it is interesting for sure. While in the chat room, i able to chat with two of the US's students which is Carlos and Marissa. They shared to me about what are courses they studying and they are interested to hear about our university sea survival.  While chatting, they are at 9.30 pm which is they are attending night class while ours here just a start of the day which is 9.30 am. I am looking forward for the next class, can't wait to explore more experiences sharing from other country!

Today, we met new friends from East Carolina University.  We exchanged questions about our daily college life with them although I can't really hear their voices clearly in the video just now, it's exciting because we gained more knowledge about the US students life.  It's quite wonderful because they have 4 seasons there which they can experienced different atmosphere such as autumn, winter, spring and holidays during summer! They have the fraternities and sororities life in campus (same goes here such as PALAPES, WATANIAH, etc.) which I would like to know more. There are so much to know and hopefully I can get them on the next class!

They said that some of them practice their religion in life and also go to church and some may not do that. How do they practice the religion is based on what the family had done and what they had been tau
ght since they were young. The students at ECU universities stay by themselves and away from their parents so they have to take care of everything just by themselves. They say that they want to achieve their dream and successful in their life just like the others. The usual age for them to being selected to the university is about 20 years old and above which is a little bit different compared to Malaysia whereas here we will further our degree at the age of 19 or 20 if we have completed our matriculation, or we have taken STPM (Pra-Universities). Some students get selected to further their diploma at 18 years old after finished their SPM. Family and religion of the people around US and Malaysia may differ in several cases which Malaysia has multiple races so people on Malaysia also has several religion which is Islam, Buddhist, and Christian. As for meaning of life, it may differ because different person has different philosophy of life. So we also have different dreams and different thing that we want to achieve. As for my partner, he said that he want to travel around the world because he loves to travel and he had been to several country such as Thailand and Indonesia.

During this session we chatting about the stereotypes and prejudices in both of our country. My partner said that people always think that Americans are fat and lazy. Some of them also say that Americans are sometimes rude to others. As for Malaysian, we tend to think that Chinese usually have problems to cooperate with Malay students in group project because they always think that Malay students are lazy. Because of different races, and different in dialect for every state in Malaysia, people tend to talk about racism. As an example, people always saying that Kelantanese usually don’t make friends with people from other state and they always saying that Kelantanese tend to forget their friends (other state) when they were with their Kelantanese friends. But as we grow up, we meet with a lot of people with a lot habits, and different thinking so we shouldn’t be a stereotypes people that judges others because others will judge us too.

Their university seem to have longer duration of studies due to their education system but usually would finish around the same age of our graduates. Since the class consist of final year student we also talk about industrial training. They said that they have the freedom to choose when to have their training compared to Malaysian education system which industrial training was set from the start. We also mention about the location of UMT that is near the beach and about our currency with are lower than their currency.Later, we talk about part-time job. They ask if our student did a part-time job to pay for cost of living. The answer was similar as both Malaysian and Peruvian student do sometime did a part-time job to earn some pocket money. Then, we talk about the countries favourite sport which are football. The Peruvian take their football seriously. They sing their football cheer song and another song in their language. As a respond we sang ‘rasa sayang’.

Today we had our discussion about family life and meaning of life. My partner Sabrina is an Indian girl who lived in the United States. I'm so happy to know her as I also have the Indian blood. She told me that she moved to US when she was 5 years old and her family still remember their culture although living in America. Most of the ECU students are staying at the hostel so they will spend their weekends with their families.  They believe that life is just to do good things to others especially families. But as a Muslim, i believe that our main purpose of life is to obey and follow the rules. I have problem to differentiate between stereotypes and prejudices but after the class i think that i can differentiate those two. Islamophobia is famous in US. So i asked them especially my partner cause she is a muslim about the stereotypes and prejudices involving muslim there. She said that some people believed that Muslims bring harm to them however it not trully happened. And we also share our streotypes and prejudices occured in Malaysia. Basically it involves between races. We have to present our collaborative project. It was really awesome as we can present about the attractiveness of our beloved country Malaysia to them. At the same time, we can know about their country too. So my partner, Sabrina and I decided to present about food and beverages in both country. I am totally excited with my first class with the Peruvians. They are super nice and i really like them. i chat with my partner, Aakash first as we had problem with the live video. So we start with self introduction. It was really awesome as my partner in a mixed blood! His father is an Indian while his mother is a Peruvian. That is why he did not look so much as Latino. During our discussion, we discussed a lot about life and meaning of life. Most of them are Christians and a few are Atheist. We have same perspective as we need to be good towards others and respect each other. We also discussed about streotypes and prejudices and I asked them what they are thinking about Islam. I am so glas to hear that their professor's thought. He believed that Muslims are good people and not terrorists and he said that shame on the people that said Islam are bad. Honestly i found that classes with USIL are much happening and enjoying compared to ECU caused they are much more friendly and easy going.
