I think that the current cost of fashion is very high. It has massive costs on the environment, the consumers and the manufacturers. It results in human rights violations and colossal environmental damages. another cost of fashion that wasn't mentioned in the video was the mental effects on society and how our perceived realty is becoming warped by photo shop and eating disorders. The harm done to the consumer however is nothing compared to the harm done to the workers and manufactures ( not the company but the people who actually make the garments). The workers face gross human rights violations and work in terrible conditions that are often a risk to their help. Big name companies like H&M and Nike take advantage of peoples desperation and poverty and use it to their advantage.

The true cost of fashion are human lives. Clothing companies are putting their wealth before their worker's health to keep up with the constantly growing fashion industry which is approaching horrendous measures. People's lives are being put on the line for what is called fast fashion thus companies can sell more clothes for a smaller price.

Although it makes nicer clothes cheaper for consumers, it generates an incredible amount of pollution and waste. The working conditions are often terrible, causing serious risk of disease, injury, and death.

I think that the current cost of fashion is way too high compared to what the workers are being paid. A shirt in a store could cost $50, but the worker who made it probably got about a dollar or two for making that shirt. Especially that these conditions that the workers are working in are not proper, meaning they are very dangerous. The working conditions really depend on the brand, many cheaper brands that need a lot of things produced like H&M, Forever 21 etc. are the ones with the worst conditions because they don't want to be paying a lot for one box of shirts. Going back to the shirt, that shirt can cost someones life. We need to think and see if that shirt is really cost a human life?

The people making the clothes are getting hardly any money and the items themselves are being sold for a lot more. They have terrible working conditions and they are risking their lives to go to work everyday. Some places are getting more clothing faster than they can sell it, meaning the companies are getting rid of them and harming the environment.

Companies that are under the category fast fashion are benefiting the most out of the situation, but so are we, the consumers. We can now buy clothes that are decent quality at extremely low prices. Some of these fast fashion companies are H&M, Forever 21, Zara and more.
