The Five Pillars of Islam are the core beliefs and practices that shape a Muslim's faith and actions. These pillars serve as a foundation for a Muslim's life and help guide them in their relationship with Allah (SWT)

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Islam is based on (the following) five (principles):

1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger (ﷺ).

2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.

3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) .

4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)

5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.

(Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 8; Sahih Muslim, Hadith 16)

Here is the explanation on the 5 pillars of Islam:

Shahada (Faith): The declaration of faith, stating that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger. This is the central creed of Islam.

Salah (Prayer): Performing the five daily prayers at specific times throughout the day. Starting with Fajr (dawn), Zohr (midday), Asar (afternoon), Maghrib ( sunset) and Isya (evening) These prayers are a direct connection to Allah.

Zakat (Charity): Giving a portion of one’s wealth (usually 2.5%) to those in need. It promotes social justice and helps those less fortunate.

Sawm (Fasting): Fasting during the month of Ramadan, abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs from dawn to sunset. It teaches self-discipline and empathy for the less fortunate.

Hajj (Pilgrimage): The pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim must undertake at least once in their lifetime, provided they are able to do so physically and financially. It includes a series of rituals performed in Mecca, symbolizing unity and equality among Muslims.

In Islam, it involves showing respect, kindness, and consideration in all aspects of life, whether in personal, social, or professional interactions. Islamic etiquette includes how to speak, how to greet others, how to behave in public, and how to show respect to parents, elders, and fellow Muslims, based on teachings from the Quran and Hadith.

Ihsan:

Ihsan in Islam means to do something with excellence and sincerity, particularly in worship and interactions with others. It is often defined as "worshipping Allah as though you see Him, and while you do not see Him, knowing that He sees you." Ihsan encompasses striving to perform good deeds with a pure intention, offering the best of your abilities in everything you do, and seeking perfection in your actions for the sake of Allah. It is a higher level of faith that involves not only following the commands of Islam but doing so with the utmost excellence, devotion, and mindfulness.

"The best of you are those who are the best in manners and character."
This Hadith highlights that good manners and a noble character are among the best qualities a person can possess.

(Sahih Bukhari (Book 73, Hadith 56)
