E learning 2

1. The poem means that children have different ways of learning and discovering the environment around them. Children can use a 100 different ways to communicate and express themselves. Every child learns differently, some children maybe visual learners, while some maybe kinesthetic learners. Also, the poem implies that children should not learn for the sake of learning but instead need to use their creativity and curiosity to learn about the environment around them. Children should not be denied of learning in a fun and engaging manner.

2. The 100 languages of children was definitely an eye-opener to me. As a teacher, I truly believe that children should be given ample opportunities to expand on their creativity and therefore children should learn with their own interest and not be forced to learn. Through the poem, I learnt that children should be given different ways to express themselves. Teachers must constantly strive to incorporate different strategies for children to learn in their classrooms and must make learning a fun way for the children, with less teacher directed lessons, and more child directed lessons in the classroom. Teachers must see themselves as a nurturer and guide to scaffold the learning of each child in the classroom. Therefore, currently my students learn through different ways like projects, art and craft and play which can most certainly help them achieve their learning objectives at their own pace . As an educator, I believe that it is important to observe and understand how each child learns in the classroom. When teachers have a clear understanding of their child’s learning style, it is easier to provide the child with various ways to achieve an optimal and enriching learning experience in the classroom.
