Patz, Jonathan A., and R. Sari Kovats. "Global Warming Caused by Air Pollution Will Harm Human Health." Is Air Pollution a Serious Threat to Health?, edited by Andrea C. Nakaya, Greenhaven Press, 2005. At Issue. Gale In Context: Opposing Viewpoints, link.gale.com/apps/doc/EJ3010336206/OVIC?u=cobb90289&sid=bookmark-OVIC&xid=feb1c78a. Accessed 30 Sept. 2024. Originally published as "Hotspots in Climate Change and Human Health," British Medical Journal, Nov. 2002.

Climate change will be the downfall of humanity because it is increasing health issues in our nation. This article talks about how as the earth begins to experience temperatures way lower or way higher than average mortality goes up. Malaria increases with temperature changes as well. The article also mentions sea levels are rising in some areas causing flooding while other areas are experiencing more droughts. The purpose of the article is to inform readers of the dangers of climate change. It was intended for readers who want to learn more about climate change and to warn people about the dangers of climate change. The article helps define the topic because it discusses the dangers and what it is doing to not only people, but to the earth as a whole. The article fails to go into depth about sicknesses. It is useful for my research topic because it is well organized and very informative. It uses pathos by fear mongering and scares readers with the dangers it talks about.

Accessed 30 Sept. 2024.

This article is about how climate change and global warming will affect not only current generations, but many generations to come. It talks about change over time in the earth's weather patterns and how that affects humanity. The text discuses actions being taken by the president as well as the United Nations. The purpose is to inform readers of what is going on in the world around them and actions being taken. It is intended for readers who are concerned for the planet. The source helps define the topic because it talks about how climate change is killing people and how it will continue to do harm. This article fails to go into detail about actions citizens can take. It uses logos by using statistics. This is useful to my topic because it teaches me the causes of climate change and the effects.

"Boiling Point." Environmental Issues: Essential Primary Sources, edited by Brenda Wilmoth Lerner and K. Lee Lerner, Gale, 2006, pp. 462-467. Gale In Context: Opposing Viewpoints, link.gale.com/apps/doc/CX3456400173/OVIC?u=cobb90289&sid=bookmark-OVIC&xid=ef4f5f8a. Accessed 30 Sept. 2024.

This article is about how humanity's growth has been the planet's downfall. The tempratures rising is talked about as well as why they are rising. Carbon emissions trapped in the earth's atmosphere (Greenhouse gases) are the main reason for this. Change in the climate over time is also discussed. The purpose of this is for readers to get quick information using statistics. It uses ethos by quoting large corporations such as Coca-Cola. This fails to mention people and how climate change affects humanity. It is useful to my topic because it gives me statistics to use in my argumentative essay. This article is intended for researchers who need quick and easy information.

It helps clarify the topic because it give specific examples on how the temperature has risen over years and what is doing to animals and water. It fails to mention what people can do to counter climate change it just states how we cause it. It is useful to my topic because I can use the statistics in my writing.
