For the larger one I kept the upper part smooth and scratched lines into the bottom of the piece. For the smaller one I gave it texture by scooping out small indentations. In the large one I used K9 and Iron Oxide, dripping the iron oxide along the inside of the piece. The K9 was dipped and honestly could have used a little bit longer of a dip. The smaller one was moonlight and cobalt. I used the cobalt on the outside texture and dripped it along the unglazed inside. I used way too much of the cobalt so it turned into a more blackish blue than I had intended but I really like it! If I could re-do the process, I would use less of the cobalt to make it more brilliant of a blue, and I would re-dip the larger on in K9 to get a better effect.

The glaze I used for the exterior of the pot was Metalic Black and for the interior I used Moonlight. The process I did to glaze the pot was first pour Moonlight inside and dip the pot inside the metallic black. I would say I did over glaze it but overall it came out good and I am happy the way it turned out. Something I would redo it I had the chance would be to make sure I glaze all the sides because I did miss some spots, which I can learn to live with. I really love how the colors compliment each other.

The final results are beautiful, I love the way they turned out.
6.Although the left (moonlight) is not my fav out of the two, and is a little darker than I had anticipated. I wish I would have done them both in the ruttle blue color because that came out beautifully against the white clay. I also with I would have refined the inside a little more before the first firing.

I carved my piece in order to make a geometric design on the outside of my pinch pot. For the interior and the exterior and interior I used blue celadon and ice blue. I applied my glaze by dipping my piece. It ended up a blue green on the outside and a brown-ish color on the inside, if I were to do it again I may have stuck to a singular color.

Both are dipped glazed in Metallic black glaze but one has a copper red interior. If I am correct I believe it is the cauldron without the bird on it. I do not have the photo of them but am going to attach an imagine of the drawing I have of them with the colors I planned out for now, until I could get a photo. Even though I have not seen them I do with I did both with the interior as copper red instead of just the one.

Mixed clays, with some carving details on both pots, the glaze for the top pot is: moonlight inside, gold shino on the top rim, and rutile on the outside, the application was dipped with moonlight poured and for final results the outside I was surprised to see the rutile blue come out as yellow, the gold shino turned red and then the inside was similar to the first glaze - mixed clay becomes muted or black and white in color which is disappointing and not the best way to show off the beautiful texture of the mixed clay colors. The second bottom sunflower pot glaze I did gold shino on the top petals, moonlight on the inside and K2 on the outside with white slip in between, again same as above a little disappointed with moonlight, however, loving the K2 effect on the bottom exterior! Post firing I will do an underglaze to see if that may pop with the moonlight and then for the re-do I am doing a post firing with MG2 white so we'll see how those results look next week!

So after firing there are a few things I probably would have changed. The first one was I would’ve glazed it a bit thinner as it was too thick on and one of them had glaze strip pretty far off and it needs to be grind it down. Another thing was I would’ve done the both of the red on the inside as I love the contrast from the inside to the outside. Other than that I really did like the colors and how it came out overall.

I used the carving tool to carve the lines on the vessel. For the one on the left, I poured copper red in and covered it with transparent glaze. For the right one, I poured purple Chun in and covered it with transparent glaze. I really like how the purple Chun turned out, I'm not quite sure how it became red and blueish though. I thought it was going to be a solid purple color but I like how it looks like a stone.

This piece is my pinch pot test and glaze test. The glazes I bought from Clay planet a few years ago and was testing them. They are red, orange, and yellow. The “green” is the yellow glaze, the rim of the cup is an orange that I printed 5 times and there is some orange glaze that I printed on the cup, 4 and 5, but it looks like it ran because I printed the orange on the yellow. The inside of the cup is red that I let sit for 10 seconds.

For my pair of pinch pots I carved some shapes and lines into it to add some textural qualities. I used the glaze moon light on both the inside and outside by dipping the pots. I also added oxide by creating bands on the rim of the pots. I like the final results of how these pots came out. If I were to redo it I would refine them more so they are less asymmetrical. I would also like to try dipping different glazes.

The idea behind my pinch pots was to create something I can use for a cultural festival called Diwali. The piece to the left had a moonlight exterior with a red interior. I think the contrasting colors for this usage went together great. I believe I used a Ice Blue for the second piece and elected to dip the whole piece in the glaze and keep it one color, thinking back I think having a white inside would have been a cool effect for how I'm using the piece. Maybe would have given more character to the fire.

Hi, Everyone:
I'm Ta. I want to share with you my 2 vessels that they just were fired recently. I liked very much, and I said to my teacher Michelle Gregor this sentence: "Less Time, Much Money." By accidently, I was late in submission my projects, so in a hurry I mixed clays: white, brown, and red together. I used carvings to decorate the vessel on the right side and dipped it in glaze much I could do. The left side vessel was different, I painted meticulous many layers with different colors. I carved eyes, a nose, and a large smiling mouth. I drew, I mixed many textural qualities, and finally I was satisfied with my two vessel projects. Thank you my teacher to teach me, and did a firing for me. That was the most important work that you are very nice to collaborate with us. The last question that you asked me: I want to keep what I did because I thought they were good and special for my beginnings.
 Sincerely,
Nhu-Mai Ta

My description for my piece isn't being saved in the comments so here it is again: I glazed the exterior with oribe and the foot + interior with glass shino. The pot is a dark dull red with black marks lining the demarcation where the oribe meets the interior glaze. The inside and foot is clear/tinged with orange. I was not a fan of the foot being clear so I would do it in oribe if I had to do it over.

I glazed the exterior and interior in gold shino by dipping both pots. The result is a very odd texture - it almost didn't look glazed to me - you can see the color of the natural clay underneath very well and there are tints of orange on both pots. I wouldn't use this glaze again, or if I did, I would layer it. I disliked the texture and overall glaze appearance, it just kinda felt like the glaze melted off.

I did these two vessels two different ways: the dog rhyton's head is connected to the cup part. The dragon rhyton's head was done separately then attached to a main cup part. The dragon features iron oxide, while the dog used just glazes, though I did make the Hamada rust glaze for the dog. The interior of the dog cup is class shino, while the dragon has metallic black. Everything is painted on. If I could redo one part of each rhyton, it would be to put ears on the dog, and to wax the dragon partly so that I can simply dip it into the copper red, then take off the wax later to paint the rest.
