This compromise basically stopped slavery to spread throughout the United States and it included the Fugitive Slave Act. This act let the slaves that escaped from the south to the north could not be arrested or taken back to where they came from. This act ultimately divided the beliefs of the North and the South. </div>]]></description>

This would be declared by popular vote.  As a result, movements went to Kansas , expecting to change the declaration. By the end of the five-year outbreak, 56 lives were taken.</div>]]></description>
