Furthermore I can read notes fairly easily and understand the fingering of each notes which allows me to play with ease.

I will = I will need to work on my breathing and also the speed of my fingering. As some pieces may require lengthened breathing whilst not stopping hence I need to work on it. High pitches are difficult for me personally. I can listen and understand my mentors instructions clearly. I can play low notes comfortably.

W- I will need to focus on playing a larger range of notes, preferably 1 octave. I will need to learn more about reading notes and know how to play them with clear articulation and tone.

3. I also think that the notes played were consequent and fluent. There were no long pauses between notes, or extremely short pauses in between so I would say my articulation went well.
Even better if:
1. I can improve my breathing while playing. The notes I played were sometimes rough with too much air passed through them.
2. The notes I played were sometimes unstable and loud, so when I tried to hold a note it was too short, or a short note was elongated and increased in sound, therefore I need more control over the tempo and dynamic.
3. I should be better in playing the notes with less errors and read notes carefully in order to accurately play the notes.
Close the gap:
1. Practice the scale more often.
2. Practice buzzing through mouthpiece and free buzzing as well.
3. practice playing moderate and higher level pieces to improve note reading, articulation, dynamic and air speed.

The composition is based on the fantasy story of ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘The Mouse King’ which plot is of a girl who becomes friends with a Nutcracker ; together they fight against the Evil Mouse King.

Initially, Tchaikovsky had a certain uncertainty towards the proposition by Ivan to compose The Nutcracker as he was displeased with the scenarios of the ballet. However he agreed upon the request due to it being ranked highly in the composers estimations.

The March is an instantly recognisable composition, due to its variation in tempo compared to the other scores in the Ballet. Nonetheless, the composition is played through the emotions of lightheartedness and carefree joy, due to the staccato rhythms riddled in the composition.

Furthermore, the triplet rhythms in the composition imitates the experience of being in a fare, a circus of sorts. To add on to that, the dotted rhythms of the March symbolisms the marching/skipping patterns of the toy soldiers.

In accordance to the Global Context of Personal and Cultural Expression, Tchaikovsky utilises various tempos and rhythms to imitate the movement of the characters and also to express the situation of the ballet. The ballet is filled with happy and light emotions which utilises various wind instruments to express the setting of the ballet which is a doll like fantasy world
