Preview the page, say the page number, scan the page... giving students time. 
-Put the page number in big on the screen so students know what the number looks like. 
-If you can use your projectors! Or incorporate pictures in your slides.
Put a post-it on material before distributing material . 

Scenario #2
-Draw pictures. 
-Variety of sentence frames.
-Modelling (the teacher models, and also choose a student to model).
-Going back a few steps. 
Model counting objects, adding visuals, and adding that they can count beans at home, or anything else they can. Make it more hands on.
