I appreciated being able to get reactions from the larger org on our statements. In my table group I heard from voices that arent respresented in our Steering Group. I think it could be important for us to practice naming as many types of stakeholders as possible as we work together and consider if those voices are equally represented in our work

I heard staff did not feel they had sufficient time to process what they experienced and heard during the Promise 54 and that it was "too much too fast". How do we honor the scope and breadth of this work while recognizing the complexity and still providing sufficiently digestible "bites" to keep people engaged and involved throughout this process. Similarly, how can we simplify and still the essence of this work to communicate the core tenets we are exploring? Last point, lots of mixed experiences on what diversity means to TNTP in definition and practice.

Reflecting on the org-wide session led by Xiomara, I believe it's critical to continue to uplift a diverse set of voices as we work as a steering committee. The two table discussions I was able to participate in was a profound experience. I was able to hear from A LOT of different perspectives that pushed my thinking and highlighted blind spots. Without that experience, some voices may not have been heard. Also, it brought to forefront how perspectives from varying roles and levels in the org is critical. I was able to hear from a member of the Tech team and his ideology to the our approach in DEI was vastly different from my own. Without that table discussion, I assume I would not ever come to understanding and knowledge of his belief. In addition, I loved that a CHOICE was given to the org to select what topic/conversation each of us would engage in during our time. For me, the choice was liberating and empowering. I was able to actively contribute to a conversation/topic that I had deep interest and investment. I believe this was a shared experience, instead of it feeling like compliance. One thing to consider, for veteran TNTPers or those who have had negative experiences within the org in relation to DEI - it may be helpful to continue to clearly define and articulate the vision, purpose, goals and action-steps of the steering committee work. For some, they felt a sense of nuance and wanted more clarity on the "why and how" since these conversations have been ongoing, but perhaps not as successful in the past. Sharing the visual timeline of the steering committee was a good way to ground the org in our timeline and make the work not seem exclusive to the steering committee only.
