1) What appealed to you?
Two aspects that stood out were:
a. Affordable healthcare for all
b. Minimum wage implementation

2) Reasons:
a. Affordable healthcare for all appealed to me because healthcare costs in Singapore can be a heavy burden, especially for the elderly or low-income families. The SDP’s proposal to make healthcare more affordable shows a concern for social equity and the well-being of ordinary citizens. Ensuring people do not have to delay or skip treatment due to cost is an important social safety net.

b. Minimum wage implementation is attractive because it provides financial stability for lower-income workers. In a high-cost-of-living country like Singapore, having a guaranteed minimum income helps reduce income inequality and ensures workers can support their families with dignity. It shows the SDP’s commitment to fair employment and reducing poverty.

The PAP also promises to make Singapore a more vibrant city by continuing to reduce carbon emissions to reach net-zero by 2050, so as to secure a cleaner and greener Singapore for future generations. This is important to us as we will be the ones who will continue to live in Singapore into the far future.

1. ensure Medifund is more accessible, expand MediShield Life to include mental health and chronic disease treatment, and cap out-of-pocket healthcare costs

2. RDU proposes that all HDB estates be eligible for SERS, introduces a Rent-to-Own scheme for lower-income groups and young singles, and recommends restrictions on resale purchases by new citizens and PRs to prioritise long-term Singaporeans.

This reflects a concern for long-term home ownership and the financial security of Singaporeans, especially younger citizens and the middle-income group.

2） PSP emphasizes the need for greater transparency, especially in government-linked agencies and public spending. Their push for a more robust system of checks and balances appeals to those who value open governance and believe in holding public institutions accountable to the people.
