(Jades Response)
Status: What Elizabeth keys story tells me about the status on American Americans were that you had to be chirstian & European to be free but sometimes like Elizabeth, if you’re not European by your father was a European man who was free & you were at least Christian than there wasn’t a possibility of you being set free.
1. She was the daughter of a European and African American
2. She was the first Africans American to sue for her freedom and win
3. She inherited 500 acres of land I think after her father

Breanna Blackwell
1. Elizabeth Key was the first woman of African ancestry in the American colonies to sue for her freedom for slavery and won.
2. She remained a indentured servant for nineteen years.
3. She was the illegitimate daughter of an enslaved black mother, and an English planter father.
Status - Elizabeth Key status tells us that being an indentured servant during this time was very harsh. You was released under your masters terms, and couldn't be free until they said so. It also shows that you would get discriminated as a certain race based off of one parents race, they'll automatically classify you as black even if you have a little as 2%.
