Although the book offers some insight on each of the character's that we do not get in the movie, nothing compares to seeing the characters and watching their movements. The book was written after the movie came out, which is different from most other forms of literature as the book is usually written first. This means the journeys of all characters in the book are the same as in the movie, so you do not really gain much from reading the book. As said by the writer Emily Perrin, "The book wraps up right quick when all the action is over, and it just sort of stops. And you’re left with a kind of meh feeling. So I’d say probably give this one a pass unless you’re a completist. It’s got some fun bits, but it’s nothing to get excited over."
