My flatmate got involved in a pyramid scheme and he lost a lot of money. The worst thing about it, however, was that he also lost friends. He was convinced that by selling Herbal Life products he would be able to make money and help his friends, family and community to do the same. Instead, lots of people in his community turned their backs on him because they thought he had cheated them on purpose.

I never have believed in this kind of business, but I think that is very easy be recruited. People who want to recruit someone, look for people in a bad moment, because they are easy to convince. Be carefull of it!!

One sign of a pyramid scheme is when your income depends more on recruiting others than on selling an actual product. One example that I know is that a friend of my parents got involved in a "business opportunity" that promised huge earnings for bringing in new recruits. However, it soon became clear that the only real money came from signing up others, not from any legitimate product sales. In the end, he lost time and money.

I see on a TV program a pyramid scheme of a boy who sells you a lifestyle that you makes rich throught the excercise and actittude. He earns a lots of money of the distributors that’s sells his products and his courses. It’s a big pyramid scheme. If you know more about the theme it calls ‘Llados’.

I have a friend who works with Herbalife and Farmasi, both are pyramid schemes. I think this is like a septah, they give training and meetings so that people believe in the business model and so that they attract more people.
