This is a special program series for our younger learners (ages 4-7) where we explore a different theme each week. Each session includes a discussion of our book of the week, and activities related to our topic. Older and younger siblings are welcome!

Join Ms Debbie for a History Club geared for homeschoolers ages 8-12. Different time periods each month, mixed and not in chronological order. Resources, craft or activity, lots of information, handouts to extend the learning.

Younger sibling are welcome to join in with parental help or you can explore all that Elsmere has to offer you.

After club meeting stay and mingle with homeschool friends as you check out our library and other available activities.

Geography & Library Skills for Homeschoolers

Second Thursdays

On the second Thursday of every month, Claymont Library will have a special program on geography and library skills for homeschool children ages 8-12. Younger siblings are also welcome to attend. We will learn about geography, and how to find books in the library and look up information in reference books.

Kids in the Kitchen-Chemistry

Wednesday, October 30

1:00-2:30PM

Homeschoolers and other non-traditional students, ages 6-12 join us for some kitchen experiments as we explore chemistry in the kitchen.  Each session will include an opportunity to make/create polymers, spice blends, concoctions, and more. Resources, activities, information and handouts will extend each lesson. Younger/older siblings with parent/guardian may explore activities in the children's area of the library while sessions are taking place. Families are welcome to stay and mingle in the children's area after the session.

Monday, Nov 4

REGISTER HERE

Homeschoolers explore science, technology, reading, engineering, art, and math (while making new friends) at these meet-ups. Families may choose to attend one, a few, or all the meetings. Please register EACH child for EACH meeting for accurate planning. Targeted to Ages 8-12. Younger siblings welcome. Meeting Room is available after the program for homeschoolers to socialize from 2:00-3:00!

Homeschool Book Club: Beginning Readers

Homeschoolers and other non-traditional students read age-appropriate books together. Some decoding and contextual cue skills will be introduced, with the goal of helping children grow to LOVE reading. Designed for ages 5-7 with adult. Registration requested.
