Foley sound in my animation can be used to make the audio effects sound more real. For example, making the sound effects sound authentic and real to life. This is evident in real films where 80-90 percent of the audio is produced due to foley. This can really enhance my composition.

This video shows just how effective using Foley sond can be. The website describes foley sound as sound effects added to the film during post production . Common examples of these are footsteps or especially the opening and closing of doors. This video shows how well foley can develop the video as it makes the sound sound very authentic and true to life.

Using foley can be beneficial when dealing with a scene with dialogue. By adding in footsteps or other noises after, this can ensure that the dialogue of the scene isn't drowned out. For example, if having a scene in a cafe using a backdrop, as he cafe, you may wish to add in the background sound of a cafe and movement after the shot is recorded. This will ensure the sound level does not drown out the dialogue of those who are speaking.

These words refer to the pickup pattern of the microphone, displayed in the images alongside this text.

Omni deriving from the latin word "omnis" simply means all. For example, omnipresent meaning being everywhere or omniscient meaning all knowing. Therefore an omnidirectional mic simply means a mic that picks up sounds in all directions. These are best used for recording sound in a general area, such as maybe a group discussion where people would be placed in different areas. However, a weakness of this mic is that it often picks up unwanted sound for example if you only wanted to record audio of what was ahead, unwanted noises that were behind may be picked up.

Cardioid deriving from the greek word kardioeidḗ simply means heart-shaped.This word is also commonly found in mathematics. Therefore a cardioid mic is referring to the shape of the pickup pattern of the microphone. These pickup what is in front of the mic and not what is behind the microphone. Only picking up a little sound from the sides. This results in improved isolation and higher resistance to feedback because of their ability to reject noise. For example, in a performance this is useful as would nt pickup the screams and the cheers of a crowd.

For my research into these mics I used two other websites to accompany the video as well as dictionary.com to insure the information I was being provided was correct. The websites I used strongly supported his statements, meaning reliable evidence and assessment of the
