         <title>Summary of my Advertisement, How it can Enrich the lives of the Audience.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Treatment.<br>Climate action NOW - a short comedic government based advertisement aiming to educate the target audience on all of the necessary steps to eradicate an African olive tree. Steve Irwin Jr. walks the audience through the olive tree removal process. He takes out numerous tools out of his back pack as he does so, including a machete. He is dressed in tan clothing, giving the "Aussie" interpretation. The advertisement ends with a hilarious twist at the end: Irwin Jr. is chased off a the driveway where the olive tree was, by two casually dressed angry old homeowners.<br>Perspective<br>I will be creating my educational advertisement from the perspective of the Australian government to express its credibility and ability to achieve the attention of my audience. Necessary government text and images including "CLIMATE ACTION NOW" will appear on screen in the end credits.<br>Benefits to the Audience<br>The information that is presented in this advertisement will enrich the lives of anybody who watches it because it is both very informative (gifting the tools to remove a pesky olive tree in the backyard) and comedic, which might just brighten up someones day. Therefore after repetitively watching the advertisement,&nbsp; the target audience may associate the act of removing an olive tree with happiness, potentially inspiring others to remove them since they are a hazardous to Australia's ecosystem.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Identify and profile your target audience</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have a target audience of Australian citizens who have the political belief that climate change and introduced flora control are significant priorities the build a sustainable society. <br><br>I aim to appeal to a <strong>standardised </strong>audience regardless of their employment, religious, income or their gender. My target audience's age is 17-60 year olds, because it is the most realistic age to follow the moderately strenuous steps to remove an olive tree. That being said, those who are outside of the target audience age range, may still help raise awareness on the topic of the introduced African Olive Tree.&nbsp;<br><br>My target audience does not necessarily require previous education, besides having basic English speaking skills. This is because removal of an olive tree does not require any academic knowledge. However, education systems in Australia generally teach students the impact of global warming. Therefore I especially aim to appeal to an audience who have at least graduated middle school because they are more likely to take action.&nbsp;<br><br>I believe that my educational video will be most effective if advertised on platforms such as free to air tv or youtube. Free to air TV will appeal to the older range of my target audience, while youtube will appeal mainly to a younger crowd. These options will be most effective, because the target audience on average would spend at least an hour a day on these platforms.&nbsp;<br><br>I am to appeal to an audience who enjoys going outside and enjoying the sunset. I also aim to appeal to those who are considered a fan of Steve Irwin, which I understand is a large population of Australia. I aim to appeal to an audience that enjoys funny videos and nature documentaries. The audience should have a firm understanding on global warming and the urgent priority it has.</div>]]></description>

This olive tree was introduced in 1836 and originated from the Mediterranean region. It is a severe fire hazard due to it multi stemmed flammable green glossy leaves. The olive tree can reach up to 15 meters in height and grows flowers and green olives that ripen to a black colour. Having 6-10cm long leaves, it absorbs all the sunlight, and native vegetation that is not as tall, or have a wide diameter suffocate. The African olive tree spreads from the seeds, which are eaten by birds, and are amplified when flowing down streams. The fruit is not edible to humans, but it may harbour for pests such as the fox, or even create diseases. The first being, if the olive tree is at it's early stages, it is possible to remove it by hand without any herbicide or poisons. It it critical that the olive tree's roots are completely removed, otherwise it may grow back. It also adds that beds of olive tree saplings may be sprayed with a herbicide. For more established plants, the olive tree must be removed with a tool such as a hatchet or saw. Then the stump must be painted on with herbicide so that the roots are poisoned. Otherwise, if the plant is fully grown, it is crucial to drill holes into the the base of the stump with a power drill. Then, herbicide must be immediately put into the holes. Eventually, depending on the size, the olive tree should dry out and break down. </div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Blue Hat<br>In order to successfully develop the promotional video, it is important to plan out the filming process. This includes story boarding, a shot list, script and shooting schedule. It is also necessary to hire actors and filming equipment/assets in advance (such as a Fuji camera, microphone and assistant),<br><br>Yellow Hat<br>This promotional video will be successful because it follows a critical cause. The eradication of weeds like the olive tree are taking over the Australian bush land and is a matter of urgency. The video should be successful because it will inspire initiative of Australian's to take action for our environment.<br><br>White Hat<br>The chosen promotional video is informative. It educates the target audience on the steps involved to remove an olive tree. While the advertisement shows the steps involved, further research may be required to remove different species as the it is a short video.<br><br>Red Hat<br>This promotional video is likely to encourage mainly happy emotions. Through the use of film and narrative techniques, the audience may feel satisfied, interested and amused. Due to the cause being related to the condition of the environment, the audience also may feel guilty and inspired.<br><br>Black hat Critical thinking<br>The setting of the promotional video is at a particular house in a suburb called Trott park. The olive tree's removal requires the home owners permission. A potential issue would be if the owner declines. In order to account for this, a backup filming location is Onkaparinga National park which is known for its infestation of olive tress.&nbsp;<br>Another potential issue with the promotional video is the run time. Ideally, the video should run for about 30 seconds. Since there is a lot of information in the video, I will need to utilize editing techniques such as cutaways, cut-ins and jump cuts to speed the media up.&nbsp;<br><br>Green Hat<br>One possible alternative would be to follow the same process but for a different introduced species of flora. Such as the Blackberry bush, Athel Pine or Bitou Bush which are all considered weeds that should be prioritized. Another alternative for the promotional video would be to change the tone of comedic video to something that is more serious.</div>]]></description>

Irwin Jr. speaks in a obviously comedic, fun and bubbly tone, hopefully leaving the same effect Steve Irwin could in his documentaries which are known to be extremely captivating.<br><br>In the call to action section, I will create visual typography that says "CLIMATE ACTION NOW", which is easily accessible and could be printed off into a poster. This will allow the audience to raise awareness on the topic by putting the poster around in their backyards or cars.</div>]]></description>

It also follows the promotional video's theme of global warming.<br><br>The green colours represent the colours of the olive tree and surrounding flora that may be in the shot. The grey colour represents the concrete of the neighbours driveway. The pink colour represents the costumes of the couple that antagonise the protagonist.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I wish to use the font Friday the 13th at the end of my promotional video. It is a san serif front, and is in all capitals. I believe that the font creates the illusion of urgency, as it is has a horror theme. The font is not very neat, and the letters are a bit distorted. This contributes to the horror effect and may inspire to audience to act on climate change swiftly. I intend on using a black fill with a yellow background to further display the warning effect. </div>]]></description>
