In the beginning of the story, this continues to Jonas, he’s eleven-year old boy who gets older throughout the book (The Giver ) who must become the new receiver use memory for the communities, a place which will have him to house all the memories get rid of him from the other citizen. In the middle, chapter 1 shows Jonas, his family, and some friends, and shows the story's setting. At the end of the story, it gets colder in the weather in the town community it doesn’t have a specific name to it. Therefore Jonas have been chosen for commodity special.
