This makes him believe that Tom is his ally. And though the big spider wanted to eat Harry, it also told him that the monster was a Basilisk, which is why he could hear it through the walls.


Enemies: Harry gains suspicion that Hagrid isn't really on his side and begins to question if he is his friend.

But the scaredycat professor didn't want to go any deeper and threatened the two boys with his wand to go on without him or else he would attack. The two boys pulled out their wands to defend themselves, but through a sudden movement, part of the cave's ceiling collapsed, leaving Harry on his own with no way out. Now, Harry is on his way to face his greatest challenge without the help of his friends.

It also brings the sorting hat which reveals the Sword of Gryfindor, which Harry uses to eliminate the Basilisk for good. But the trouble is not over yet because Tom Riddle is still at large and trying to kill Harry. With a bold move, Harry uses one of the Basilisk's teeth to destroy Riddle's diary, wiping him out of existance whilst also saving Ron's sister.
