The romans ate many cereals including wheat and barley for a good source of carbohydrates. They also had a lot of meat and seafood. The fish they ate was normally dried, salted, smoked or pickled. some of the meals they had were fish or eggs with vegetables and as breakfast, bread with fruit and cheese. The romans also drank wine. The Romans who could afford to, made dinner a big meal, typically with three parts. As the city of Rome grew, the demand for a regular food supply increased. Private enterprises met the needs of the citizens and foods mostly came from the Italian mainland and the larger islands such as Sicily and Sardinia. The art of good cooking was made by mixing foods and spices to create tasty sauces using wine, oils, vinegar, herbs, spices, and meat or fish juices.

Normally, parties in Rome were used to show your status and get connections with people. The entertainment included poetry, music, and gladiator fights. it was very common to see wine at dinner parties since it was such a cultural drink. In many parties, people would have sexual intercourse and there were even fests made for that specific purpose.
