Although there were many obstacles of which were to be expected. A lot of what caused them to struggle is the fact that they were not able to speak English efficiently. This greatly affected their ability to get jobs, get a home, and go to school. My grandmother had to be put in a special English class that was meant for Spanish speakers which benefited her massively.
