The Status quo in Wreck it Ralph is shown by the "bad-guys" like Ralph from the arcade games that were being mistreated by the "Nicelanders". Nicelanders are like regular people in the arcade games, and they often criticize the villain characters.

The Departure

After his decision he decides to then "game jump" to a game called "Heros Duty". Ralph game jumped by going through the cords in the arcade games which transported him over. This does start conflict as the game that he is from "Wreck it Ralph" cannot operate properly without him.

Ralph doesn't like how he is seen as a bad guy so he then decides that he will become a hero by winning a hero medal in a game. When games are completed, a hero medal is offered to the winners and if Ralph gets one he thinks that he may be liked.

Trial 1

Ralph's trials begin once he wins his first game receiving the medal for Hero's Journey. But while receiving the medal an enemy appears and he has to fight an enemy called the Cy-bug. While it tries to kill Ralph he trips on a Cy-bug egg and falls into a rocket ship. The rocket ship flies and then he lands in another game called "Sugar Rush". Ralph and the bug are forced out of the vehicle as the ship crashes into the ground and Ralph tries to grab his medal but he doesn't.

Ralph is searching for his medal and eventually sees it and walks over to the tree. Once he gets there he climbs the tree and about half way through he meets Venellope. She toys with him but then once she sees the medal she steals it and runs. Ralph falls into a taffy lake and tries to follow her. Vanellope tries to sneak into a race but she is glitched, and the other people don't like her. Ralph tries to get the medal from her but the police from the race send a cupcake on him and roll him to the kings castle. Ralph doesn't know this until King Candy tells him but Vanellope tried to buy her way in the race with the "coin" which is Ralph's medal.

The other girl racers destroy Vanellope's homemade car because they don't want to race with a glitch. Ralph is spying on her and he scares the girls away and then throws a tantrum after she makes fun of the name "Hero's Duty" not knowing how scary it is. She makes him a deal that Ralph makes her a car and she wins the medal back. They both sneak in to make a car and it goes kind of wrong, but Vanellope ends up liking the car and they escape the guards and the king and get out of there.

King Candy goes in the games database or some sort of treasury and grabs the medal. He then offers Ralph the medal but he cannot let Vanellope race as if she wins then she will be added as a racer. And if she is a racer people will play her and notice that she is a glitch, which will cause the game to get unplugged. But since shes a glitch she cannot escape and she would die out with the game. He also tells Ralph that she is not meant to exist and that she is nothing more than a glitch. Ralph then destroys her vehicle to prevent her from racing and leaves "Sugar Rush".

Return

Ralph returns home with his medal thinking that he has become a hero. It turns out that he isn't and his game is listed for getting shut down. "Fix-it Felix" is a character from his game who is known as the "good guy", who repairs Ralph's mistakes with his hammer. Ralph finds out that Felix chased after him so that he can return but Ralph is home and Felix isn't. Felix was dropped off a spaceship by a character from "Hero's Duty" that went to the "Sugar Rush" to stop the cy-bug from placing eggs and taking over the game. Felix was captured in a jail cell after trying to talk to the king. After pondering Ralph wonders why Venellope is on the side of the game console if she is not meant to exist.

Approach 2

Ralph goes back to "Sugar Rush" to find out why she is on the arcade console. He finds gumdrop, which is like the kings royal guard, kind of like a prince or a sidekick. He tells Ralph that King Candy tried to delete her code and that she is in the dungeon with Felix. Ralph goes to save Felix and Venellope and also gives Venellope a car. And she joins the race a little late.

Crisis

During the race Ralph is informed by the lady from "Heros Duty" that the game is going to be destroyed by the cy-bugs that multiplied. After she tells him this a swarm of bugs busts out of the ground and attacks people. Venellope catches up with King Candy and he attacks her. But with her touching him it reveals that King Candy is Turbo, who is a racer who destroys games out of jealousy of his game not being chosen over the others. She ends up passing him with her glitch and almost makes it to the finish line. Cy-bugs are everywhere and they completely swarm the area making it not possible for her to pass over it. Ralph tries to take her to another game but since shes a glitch she can't leave.

Crisis 2

Ralph tries to put a huge plot of mentos into a cola volcano to explode all the bugs, but he is stopped. King Candy or Turbo, shows up in a Cy-bug form who attempts to kill Ralph and take over every game. Ralph is then taken into the sky and falls down and tries to punch all the mentos down. He does, then Venellope swoops in and takes him away saving his life. But since Turbo is a Cy-bug he goes blind, getting attracted to the light from the explosions and getting blown up.

Treasure

Ralph is finally liked by the Nicelanders and is known as a good "bad guy". Instead of being hated for his character and code he is now liked for saving a game and being a genuine good guy who is stuck as a villain.

Ralph is now a happy guy who may be a villain in the game, but is liked as a person. Instead of being hated he has reached his goal and finally liked by the people in his game.

Everyone's memory was wiped in the "Sugar Rush" game, and with Turbo being defeated everyone gets it back and they remember that Venellope is a princess and the ruler. She is now the leader of the game and forgives everyone.
