adding constant 'c' changes the origin of the function, but only on the x axis. As c becomes negative, the graph moves right, as c becomes positive, it moves left.

from what I can remember both constants "a" and "b" affect the scale of a graph, in its appearance and also location. "a" directly affects the y-value, and "b" directly affects the x-value. -a:the function is flipped, -b:the function is stretched? A affects the vertical scale (I think?) and b affects the horizontal.

When a is negative, the parent function reflects over the new reference point/rotates. I am not sure how to explain
The larger a is, the further from the reference point the graph becomes

A higher 'A' value makes the function broader as the value increases? And negative 'A' just flips the function upside down, so reflect over x.

Having a constant "a" outside of the parent function causes the vertex to change as the value changes. As "a" gets closer to zero the graph gets closer to the x value of x=0 and as it becomes greater the graph shifts further from x=0.

The vertex of the graph changes as the value of "a" changes. "A" effects the vertical scale of the graph. A negative a value results in a vertex where the y value is positive and a positive a value results in a vertex where the y value is negative. This holds true for all real values excluding 1.
