I have always loved teaching, but it wasn’t until I began working with children that I truly realized it is my deepest passion. There is something incredibly special about the way children absorb knowledge, how they view the world with curiosity and wonder, and how they grow with each new experience. Being part of that journey is not only fulfilling but profoundly transformative.

Teaching, for me, is far more than a job it is a meaningful act of service, a daily opportunity to impact lives and nurture potential. I firmly believe that teaching with love, passion, and patience creates an environment where real learning can happen. These qualities open the door to understanding, creativity, and trust, allowing students to feel safe and motivated to explore, ask questions, and make mistakes without fear.

What I’ve discovered through teaching is that the role of a teacher goes beyond delivering information. A true teacher is also a guide, a mentor, a listener, and a source of encouragement. Teaching is about forming connections, understanding each student as a unique individual, and adapting to their needs, interests, and learning styles. It requires not only knowledge of the subject but emotional intelligence, flexibility, and a constant willingness to learn and evolve.

Over time, teaching has helped me discover more about myself my strengths, my weaknesses, my values, and my purpose. It has challenged me to become more patient, more reflective, and more empathetic. Every lesson, every classroom moment, brings new insights—not just into academic content, but into human nature and the diverse ways people learn and grow.

Teaching has also shown me the power of small moments. A single encouraging word, a breakthrough in understanding, or a student overcoming a personal obstacle can be incredibly powerful. These experiences remind me daily why I chose this path. They inspire me to keep growing, to keep learning, and to continue striving to be the best educator I can be.

Now, I see teaching not just as a career but as a lifelong mission. It is a powerful tool to inspire minds, awaken curiosity, and contribute to a more compassionate and knowledgeable world. Through teaching, I have the chance to light sparks in young minds—sparks that may one day become passions, talents, or even future callings.

In the end, teaching is a reciprocal process. As much as I teach my students, they teach me. They remind me of the importance of wonder, the value of perseverance, and the beauty of continuous learning. It is through teaching that I connect with others, grow as a person, and play a small but meaningful role in shaping a better future.

For example, in Excel I know the basics: creating tables, entering data, and using some simple formulas. But when it comes to more advanced features, like complex formulas, macros, or pivot tables, I feel lost. Even so, I know that consistent practice and a willingness to learn are essential for progress. I truly believe that with patience, time, and the desire to improve, I can achieve it.

I also understand that in today’s world, having strong technological skills is a necessity, not just an option. That’s why, even if it's challenging at first, I want to strengthen my knowledge and abilities. I know that making mistakes is part of the learning process, and I’m willing to step out of my comfort zone, face challenges, and keep growing. The key is to not give up, to seek support when needed, and above all, to maintain an open attitude toward continuous learning.

To be an effective educator in today’s world, I need to be able to integrate technology into the classroom, use various educational software, and stay updated with current digital trends. My aim is to move beyond basic knowledge and become confident in using advanced technological tools that support innovation, collaboration, and effective instruction.

Also, updating my tech skills helps me stay connected with parents, organize my work better, and provide students with different ways to explore and understand new topics. Learning new technology is not just a requirement—it's a way to grow and give my students the best possible education.

Technology has advanced significantly over the years, transforming the way we live, work, and communicate. From the invention of the telephone and the light bulb in the late 19th century to the rise of computers, the internet, and smartphones in recent decades, each era has brought innovations that have reshaped society.

In the past, communication was slow and limited, but today we can connect with people around the world instantly. Education, healthcare, transportation, and entertainment have all been revolutionized by technology. Digital tools, artificial intelligence, and automation are now part of everyday life, increasing efficiency and opening new possibilities.

As technology continues to evolve, it brings both opportunities and challenges. It requires individuals and societies to adapt, learn new skills, and stay informed. The progress we’ve seen so far suggests that technology will continue to play a central role in shaping our future.

Integrating technology into the classroom allows for more dynamic, interactive, and personalized teaching methods, which significantly enhances the learning experience for students. In addition, mastering these tools will enable me to adapt to different educational contexts, whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid learning environments.

My commitment as an Education student is to prepare myself in a well-rounded way. This includes not only understanding pedagogical theories and methodologies, but also becoming proficient in using digital platforms, educational applications, interactive resources, and other systems that are now essential for effective teaching. Only by doing so can I meet the demands of today’s environment and provide a quality, innovative education.

Miami Dade College gave me the opportunity to study Education, something that has always been my passion since I was young. Thanks to this institution, I have been able to begin an academic journey that is preparing me to become a dedicated, empathetic, and professional teacher. My path started with the EAP (English for Academic Purposes) program, which was essential in strengthening my knowledge of the English language, especially in an academic setting. This program helped me not only improve my reading, writing, and speaking skills, but also gain the confidence to participate actively in class and understand the course material.

After completing the EAP program, I entered the EPL (Educator Preparation Institute) program, which has been a very important step in my training as an educator. In this program, I have learned about lesson planning, assessment strategies, classroom management, child development, and how to adapt teaching to the individual needs of students. Each course and classroom experience has reinforced my desire to teach and to make a difference in the lives of children—especially those who, like me at one point, face language or cultural barriers.

I am deeply grateful to Miami Dade College for opening its doors to me and providing the tools I need to grow both personally and professionally. This educational path has transformed my life, and I feel motivated to continue learning, growing, and giving my best to serve my community through education
