My strengths include, consistency, activator, deliberative, significance, and harmony.

As a learner, team member, or worker I am able to establish and build trust. I help make decisions and move the team along when things become challenging. I listen and lead with purpose rather than impulsivity. I thrive in making important decisions, being included, and shown appreciation. I do not enjoy conflict and seek to provide a consensus among the team.

The team will consist of: Angelica, Carter, Fernando, Matthew, William. I am choosing these members due to our differences in strengths. While it is comfortable to surround yourself with people who share similarities, growth typically occurs when limits are pushed outside of the comfort box.

Angelica (Analytical): She will bring a methodical approach to the team, she is able to utilize strategic thinking, cause and effect, and think things through.

Carter (Communication): Carter will bring influence to the team, the ability to put his ideas into words, and utilize a charismatic approach.

Fernando (Focus): Fernando will be a great asset keeping the team moving and on task, the ability to prioritize and then perform.

Matthew (Maximizer): Having another influence strength on the team will benefit everyone with the ability to make details stand out and the project become the best it can be.

Willian (Woo): Adding William to the team will help lead us to connections and building strong relationships.

Summary of 3D Printing

3D printing in healthcare started with basic dental implants but now has evolved to encompass a wide array of devices and equipment. Individualized devices can be created for patients that include implants, prosthesis, and assistive devices. Other items can be made for commercial or wide spread use such as medical instruments, implants, and prosthesis that do not need to be customized (FDA, 2024).

While 3D printing might not seem to be a new concept in healthcare, the research and utilization of the practice has increased. In 2010, only three hospitals were utilizing the printing method. In 2019, this number increased by 110. In 2020, 3D printing started to revolutionize healthcare procedures and practices. Surgery times have been reduced from 1.5-2 hours down to 62 minutes. The manufacturing of certain medical equipment is being vastly reduced with 3D printing, hearing aid creation times were reduced from almost one week to one day (AHA, 2022).

I think in theory 3D printing is an amazing process to utilize in healthcare. The process can be quick which helps the patient wait time. Practicing on models helps reduce surgeon error and operating room time. Individualization of certain devices can increase patient satisfaction and outcomes. However, regulatory barriers and cost create an unknown for the utilization in healthcare full time. Not all patients are able to benefit from 3D printing at this time due to cost and material supply. More research into the quality, quantity, and cost must be performed before launching into a full scale operation.
