The world isn't perfect and currently there are many problems. But, like the quote says, there is some good. The quote is also right. We have to fight for the little good there is. With all of the natural disasters and mass violence going around, we need to be there for the people who need it. This quote especially relates to Tattoos on the Heart. This is exactly what Father Greg Boyle has done. He has helped many gang members find peace in themselves and in the world. I believe that one person can change the world. One of the main reasons I am the way I am is because I have hope that the future will be better. As long as you put your work in.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” – Helen Keller

This quote is what I believe in for my future. I know what I want to achieve, and I know it is hard to achieve, but I have complete hope and confidence in myself. My optimism is what makes me the person I am today. Without all of my hopes and dreams, and what I believe in I would not be the same person what so ever. There is a way I think about things and it may be naive, but if not how is it a dream? I believe that I will obtain my goals because of my optimism.

When we talked about worldview I knew exactly what mine was. But because of the complexity of life there is absolutely no way of explaining it. This quote sort of grasps how I have the worldview that I do. Because I think about optimistic things such as hopes and dreams and fairytale-unrealistic futures, I feel and act based on my thoughts. It is still very hard to explain and very frustrating, but I think that helps with getting my worldview across.

My Essential Truth

My essential truth is more of why I see the quote below as my mantra. Personally, I see myself as a very optimistic person. Sometimes my optimism can get in the way of reality. I realize that I don't live in some fairytale or musical, but that doesn't mean I can't be hopeful. Down below is the definition of the word optimistic. It means to be hopeful and confident about the future. I've never heard a definition so true. That explains me so perfectly. I am hopeful and confident not only in my future, but the world's. I believe that if people really put their minds, and most importantly actions, to it, we can achieve wondrous things.

My Experience

From my experience in religion I have learned so much. This past semester has impacted me so much. I'm so glad that we have an open environment where everyone can voice their feelings and opinions.I love the open discussions we have. They really have helped me grow as a person.

My perspective on faith hasn't changed a lot. I think that the main thing is that now I don't see faith only associated with religion. People can have faith in anything, believe in anything, maybe even something that has nothing to do with religion of any sort.

At the beginning of the semester I was already confident in my faith. However, this class has helped me realize where I am in my faith and so much more. I've learned and realized so much about myself through our discussions and reflections. I am much more educated on hard topics such as worldview. From our worldview unit I now have a better understanding of how I see and perceive things. That unit also helped me realized that not everyone see things the same way I do. I feel like I've grown a lot as a person from this past semester.

Like I've been saying through this project, I have complete and total faith in myself, the world, and the future. This last question really works out for me because I've been talking about this the whole time. My faith in God and my religion helps me with my optimism. I could not even imagine a world where God wasn't in my head guiding me through life. I would be lost with no sense of direction and no goals, hopes, or dreams. I would have no faith. That's why when talking about faith I think of optimism. God helps my optimism, and my optimism helps my faith in God. Because of the way I think I believe that my faith really can impact others and the world. Because of the way I think, I feel and those feelings lead to the way I act. I act upon my thoughts and feelings which is why I believe that any optimistic person can change the world.

Everything is intertwined. My thoughts, to my feelings, to my actions. My optimism, to my faith, to my religion, then back to my optimism. My faith, to my beliefs, to the future. My mark, can affect others, to let them make their mark. It's a loop, it can and will be effective, as long as everyone see the glass half full.
