Procedure Part 2

I looked at four sets of soup bowls that had different sizes, materials, and prices:

Lug Soup Bowl: $15.99 for 8 plastic bowls, each holding 26 ounces.

Soup Plates: $29.99 for 6 porcelain plates, each holding 23 ounces.

Coup Soup Bowl: $36.99 for 4 porcelain bowls, each holding 20 ounces.

Covered Soup Bowl: $49.99 for 4 ceramic bowls, each holding 24 ounces.

To compare prices, I found the total volume for sets that didn't provide it directly. This was done by multiplying the volume per bowl by the number of bowls in the set. Then, I divided the total price of each set by its total volume to find the price per ounce.

Here are some observations:

Generally, as the volume of the bowls increases, the price per ounce also goes up. The Covered Soup Bowls, which are more expensive, have the largest volume, while the cheaper Lug Soup Bowls have the smallest volume.

Plastic bowls like the Lug Soup Bowls cost less per ounce than porcelain or ceramic bowls.

Despite being larger, the Soup Plates cost less per ounce than the Coup Soup Bowls. This could be due to factors like brand or design that were not taken into account.

My hypothesis is supported by the results. The volume and material of soup bowls significantly influence their prices per ounce. Larger bowls and those made from pricier materials tend to have higher prices per ounce. However, other factors such as brand and design complexity may also play a role in determining the final price.
