What VR content did you experience today? After what you experienced and watching others, how do you think this type of technology can be best integrated into a classroom environment?

I teach 2nd grade so I can see me using the Google Earth VR the most since the curriculum is very advanced for the other apps available. However, the 3rd grade could do the planets, and other human body VR lessons. I would want to take more time to see if there are ways to show like germs on the body or something more age appropriate. Can you direct what the students see? I liked the art app for exploration. I can see a use for this app in 2nd grade

The eye and the journey through the body interested me the most. The anatomy of the eye is exactly what I wanted the expeditions VR experience to eventually move towards. Seeing the structures from all angles and having it come with outlined definitions and other pieces of info. The journey was awesome in that it puts them on a journey rather than staying stagnant. It would be nice if you could start a lesson with the outlining of the content and then follow up with a journey.

I think that the Vive adds a special component to different contents and activities. I think that one of the biggest issues, of course, is the fact that only one student can use it at a time. With 31 students in my class, it would be an all day VR experience (not impossible, but difficult). I could see Tilt Brush being a culminating activity for an art unit, where students get to apply virtually the skills and strategies they have learned.
As far as Google Earth, I think that using the VR headsets class wide is a more economical choice, because everyone can experience at the same time.

I can see many ways that this can be integrated into classrooms to help enhance content. Google Earth looks really beneficial, I could see it truly taking kids through the experience of the locations that they learn about. I would like to brainstorm ways that this could work with a full classroom in order to keep the time meaningful for the students that are not wearing the VR.
